As an Arrow Electric Estimator, you will work with the Team that is responsible for securing and driving our Company's growth! You will be responsible for accurate and complete estimates for assigned projects.  You will interact with Team members and support staff to research and determine material, labor, equipment, and transport costs to provide products, services, and success to our clients.  You will collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, vendors and others to set up our Field Teams for the highest-quality, profitable installations.  Your leadership and technical expertise, coupled with our technical proficiencies, will be critical in achieving our organizational objectives and ensuring customer success and satisfaction. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Uncompromised Safety - Communicate and advocate 100% Uncompromised Safety expectations and requirements.
  • Acquire plans, read specifications, and prepare estimates.
  • Research the cost of materials, transport, labor, and equipment.
  • Secure quotes from vendors and Purchasing Dept. for required materials.
  • Evaluate schedule, workload, weather, manpower availability and their impact on potential projects being estimated.
  • Assess the risk levels associated with each project.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed.
  • Organize and prepare scope of work description and price proposal or bid.
  • Participate in estimate review with of other estimators prior to submission.
  • Prepare project budgets once project is awarded.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings on awarded projects.
  • Travel to assigned projects as needed to gain a better understanding of the work progress.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 10 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Extensive knowledge of the electrical industry, electrical materials, and construction methods, including requirements for different construction types.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the Company as well as client companies, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Proficient with Estimating Systems (McCormick preferred).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, MS Project etc.).
  • Ability to maintain bid/estimate log systems.
  • Positive customer focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Driver’s License.
