General Position Description

The Sales Support Software Engineer will be responsible for supporting internal stakeholders across the sales organization for the Arva Intelligence’s (Arva’s) next-generation analytics platform based on proven, scalable cloud-based technologies.  The Sales Support Software Engineer will be a bridge between sales / customer success and technology to retain and promote the client experience by providing second level development support and enhancing Arva’s SaaS product utilizing Python, SQL and AWS development tools.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with tech, product, sales, customer success and operations teams to support SaaS platforms running in AWS cloud environment.

• Provide software development support and enhancements for customer requests for reporting, new features, optimization and integration capabilities to support evolving business needs.

• Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, PostGIS and No-SQL to support and enhance data-driven applications that leverage large datasets.

• Use AWS development tools to support client requests and optimize application performance.

• Create queues and pipelines to effectively analyze uploaded agricultural data in a timely manner. 

• Work with GitHub Issues and repositories along with continuous integration (CI) tools such as CircleCI to automate the build, test, and deployment process.

Key Competencies / Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field OR 5+ years software development experience, preferably full stack development of complex web applications and/or SaaS platforms.

• Working knowledge of Python development within a cloud environment.

• Experience in designing and developing complex web applications and/orSaaS platforms.

• Strong understanding of agricultural, livestock, climate, and/or environmental sustainability 

• Deep fluency with web, mobile, data, and infrastructure technologies.  

• A strong innovative mindset, adapting well with emerging technologies.

• Strategic thinking and problem solving with a high level of emotional intelligence.
