About the role

  • The Café Trainer is responsible for creating and implementing training programs across Ascension cafés. Working closely with the leadership team, they ensure team member competence and uphold quality standards at all locations. 

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging training content. 
  • Inspire passion and engagement within teams, and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture. 
  • Demonstrate and train Ascension's service/operational standards in partnership with brand leadership. 
  • Conduct onsite training at all locations, identifying challenges and collaborating with café leadership to implement solutions. 
  • Provide regular feedback and actionable insights to café leadership. 
  • Continuously expand knowledge of hospitality, food trends, and specialty coffee. 
  • Manage data integrity for digital café tools. 

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of restaurant operations, specialty coffee experience a plus. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in training and development. 
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently. 
  • Excellent communication skills (in-person, phone, and written). 
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and meticulous. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, CRM systems, and tech tools. 
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to all locations. 
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
  • This salaried, exempt position reports to the Director of Operations and collaborates with the Director of Culinary, Marketing Manager, Roastery team, and Café General Managers. It requires a minimum of 45 hours per week, based primarily in café conducting support visits and trainings. This is a Multi Unit position.
