The Role
Please note that experience in residential real estate, mortgage, or banking experience is required for consideration.
Our Data Analytics Associate will consult with various leaders in our business to track company/competitor performance, solve business problems using data, and influence our investments in data. They will also be responsible for mentoring junior analysts.
The Work
Company Performance and Analysis
- Take the lead in preparing monthly strategy decks to measure performance against plan, monitor portfolio risk, and support various data requests from our capital partners
- Identify new business opportunities through tracking competitor trends, laws, and regulations and keeping management aware of developer lending market trends and insights
- Build and maintain various dashboards to run the business, and support the business with ad-hoc analyses
- Assist in fostering a culture of test & learn within the company
Data
- Gain full understanding of data that Ascent Developer Solutions acquires (Black Knight data, RE-distribute data, House Canary, John Burns, etc). Manage & enhance existing data pipelines, and own the logic for parent child entity mapping
- Stay connected with the latest data sources in the market with an eye towards continuous improvement. Recommend strategies on how to leverage our data as an asset
- Identify & quantify opportunities to deploy machine learning & AI. Assist in the development of such techniques
Leadership
- Serve as analytics consultant to a broad variety of line-of-business teams
- Partner with technology teams on product changes and impacts on data/performance
- Mentor junior analysts on various data techniques
Your Skills and Experience
- Analytics experience in residential real estate (SFR/MFR), mortgage, or banking required
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
- 3-5 years of experience in analytical or consulting roles
- Strong analytical skills with knowledge of statistical techniques and hands-on experience in machine learning and data science
- Proficient in SQL and Python
- Strong experience with data visualization tools like power BI or Tableau
- Exposure to data engineering skills
- Strong communication and partnership skills, effective cross-department collaboration skills
- Self-starter who can work under limited supervision
- Mentoring skills to help develop junior analysts
The Pay
Salary range is $80,000-$90,000 per year, with eligibility for 15% bonus
The Work Environment
- This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).
- Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
- Some nights and weekends required.

The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 90,000 USD per year (Los Angeles)
