About the role

We are looking for a Rubrik Backup Administrator with hands-on experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience managing Rubrik environments and a solid understanding of data protection strategies, disaster recovery planning, and backup infrastructure. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity, availability, and recoverability of critical data across hybrid cloud environments.

What you will do:

• Design and implement scalable Rubrik backup and disaster recovery solutions across virtual, physical, and cloud-based environments.
• Manage and monitor Rubrik appliances, SLA domains, archival targets, replication, and recovery workflows.
• Perform backups and restores for VMs, databases (SQL, Oracle), file systems, and cloud-native workloads (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Integrate Rubrik with technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft 365, and major public cloud providers.
• Optimize backup windows, storage utilization, and recovery performance to meet defined RTO/RPO objectives.
• Automate tasks and reporting using Rubrik APIs, PowerShell, or Python scripting.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure backup data integrity and protection against ransomware.
• Maintain documentation for backup configurations, disaster recovery procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support and conduct root cause analysis of backup failures or performance issues.

What you bring:

• 4+ years of experience with enterprise backup platforms, with at least 2 years specializing in Rubrik CDM and Polaris.
• Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles, policies, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Windows/Linux file systems, SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud workloads.
• Familiarity with Rubrik’s SLA-based data protection model, immutable backups, and ransomware recovery workflows.
• Experience with API integrations and automation scripting (PowerShell, Python, or REST).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice if you have:

• Rubrik certifications (e.g., Rubrik Certified Systems Administrator – RCSA)
• Experience with cloud archiving and replication (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP Storage)
• Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOX)
• Experience integrating Rubrik with SIEM/SOAR platforms for security alerting
