Athena’s Management Consulting practice is growing our team of project managers, to join a group that brings an artful mix of creativity and facts-based insight to make even complex projects clear and keep project teams engaged. We continue to grow and are looking for ambitious teammates who share our values.  

Project Managers at Athena do more than coordinate trackers and collect updates. They also drive alignment across client teams by ensuring visibility into progress, consistent execution, and clear accountability. We also provide hands-on execution for client process elements, often acting as a member of our clients’ own delivery teams.

Day to day, you will be responsible to: 

  • Understand your client’s goals and strategic vision to define the project deliverables translated into actionable plans
  • Coordinate multiple client workstreams as they deliver on complex business programs
  • Manage recurring forums, working sessions, and executive communications to maintain stakeholder engagement and facilitate decision making
  • Oversee operational processes, collaborating with clients to ensure delivery
  • Communicate timelines for delivery, highlight risks, and recommend mitigations 
  • Develop project reports, executive summaries, and other management artifacts designed to tell a clear story about the project

 

Requirements

The skills and experience you should bring to this project: 

  • Proven experience working in a client-facing role 
  • Understanding of and experience managing projects for business unit teams such as sales, marketing, customer experience, or communications.
  • The ability to bring clarity, visibility, and strategic alignment in your projects and teams 
  • Successful management of multi-workstream projects and the ability to bring teams together for a shared purpose 
  • Strong capability in developing and presenting progress and performance reports and executive readouts 
  • Functional knowledge of project budgeting, statements of work, and other project-related financial components
  • Experience with process improvement, documenting roles and responsibilities, and understanding change management 
  • Assertiveness to drive accountability among the client and internal teams while maintaining positive relationships

 

The qualifications you will bring:

  • Proven leadership in managing projects and external stakeholders 
  • Organizational prowess in collaborating with internal and external teams of varying disciplines 
  • Skill in synthesizing complex ideas into measurable action 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across client levels
  • Command of MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize your actions 
  • Effective use of email and calendar tools to ensure participation for in-person and online sessions 
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking 
  • Ability to be flexible and seamlessly manage project pivots as needed

It’s a plus if you have:  

  • Education, degree, or experience that brings an enriched perspective to your work 
  • 4-6 years of relevant professional experience 
  • Experience in a consulting or agency environment

Candidates must be willing to work hybrid (3 days on-site) in our Philadelphia, PA office.
