AtScale

Lead Technical Writer

The Mission
AtScale is the semantic layer for modern data and AI. We bridge the gap between complex cloud data platforms—like Snowflake, Databricks, and Google BigQuery—and the business users and AI agents that need consistent, governed, AI-ready analytics. We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to shape our company-wide documentation vision and drive documentation as a product.

The Impact You'll Make
In this role, you will:

  • Drive the Documentation Vision: Set information architecture, taxonomy, governance, templates, tooling, and measurement for documentation across the company, and drive documentation as a product with its own roadmap and success metrics.
  • Curate for Every Channel and Persona: Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Trainers, Developer Relations, and Support to create content for the right media channel and the right audience—from data engineers to business users to AI agents.
  • Modernize How We Document: Push past traditional documentation approaches with docs-as-code, AI automation, software blueprints, best-practice architectures, and the convergence of UX and information design.
  • Cover the Full Surface: Develop and maintain both reference and task-based content, SDK and API docs, and integration solutions across the AtScale platform.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Ownership & Autonomy: You'll set the documentation strategy and standards for the whole company, with real latitude to decide how information is architected, governed, and delivered.
  • Innovation-First: Work at the intersection of AI, developer experience, and information design at a company defining what an emerging market category looks like.
  • Culture of Trust: Enjoy a flexible, remote-friendly environment with in-person team hubs, and a culture built on transparency, technical rigor, and professional growth.

Who You Are

  • You have a strong track record building and scaling documentation as a product, including information architecture, taxonomy, governance, and content operations.
  • You have high AI-fluency and know when to apply AI to accelerate and amplify documentation work, rather than applying it everywhere by default.
  • You have the technical background required to engage directly with software engineers, product managers, and knowledgeable power users.
  • You are collaborative, curious, persistent, resourceful, and proactive in learning the product and delivering the results.
  • You've worked hands-on with docs-as-code workflows, and are comfortable evaluating and choosing tooling to fit a documentation strategy.
  • You've partnered closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Trainers, Developer Relations, and Support teams to turn technical detail into curated, persona-ready content.
  • You have experience writing across a range of information types—reference docs, guides, SDK and API documentation, and integration solutions.
  • You bring outstanding written communication skills and the technical fluency to work directly with development teams on complex, fast-moving products.

The Perks

  • Competitive salary + equity.
  • Comprehensive health benefits and flexible PTO.
  • The chance to define the documentation strategy for a category-defining leader in AI-ready analytics.
