About the role
The Head of Technology provides enterprise-wide executive leadership for all technology, information systems, and digital capabilities across several external clients in the New York City area. The Head of Technology is responsible for defining and executing a long-term technology vision that enables strategic objectives, enhances member experience, strengthens cybersecurity and operational resilience, and ensures regulatory compliance.
What you'll do
- Establish and execute technology strategy.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Alpha's clients on technology trends, emerging technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity risk, and long-term investment priorities.
- Partner with senior executives to embed technology capabilities into business strategy, product development, operational efficiency, and member experience initiatives.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting to the board and senior leadership on technology performance, risk posture, major initiatives, and emerging issues.
- Oversee all technology operations including infrastructure, networks, systems, applications, data platforms, and end-user services.
- Ensure technology platforms are scalable, secure, interoperable, and aligned with lifecycle management and modernization standards.
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity governance, policies, and controls, including third-party risk management for technology vendors.
- Oversee disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution for technology infrastructure and critical systems.
- Ensure effective management of enhancement requests, system upgrades, vendor SLAs, and issue resolution.
- Oversee the technology budget, including annual planning, capital investments, and ongoing expense management.
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value and align with strategic priorities.
- Partner with Finance and executive leadership on long-term technology investment planning and cost optimization.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the mission, strategic goals, and operational needs.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors’ degree in a related field and at least 10+ years of senior leadership experience guiding modern technology organizations and delivering transformational business outcomes.
- Experience working in the insurance and/or financial services industries preferred.
- Experience leveraging AI-driven tools, insights, and automation to enhance workflows, decision making, and operational performance.
- Ability to define and governs enterprise-wide API strategies, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing API design.
- Strong proficiency across tech stacks/tech such as Azure, .Net, Python, etc.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, including keynotes, executive briefings, and small executive roundtables.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability, executive presence, and the ability to thrive in a high growth, meritocratic environment.

- The Consultant may be allocated to different external clients as needed
- Long-term opportunity to join a client is possible
- Must be able to work onsite in New York City 1-2 days a week
- Must be able to accommodate working hours of 8;30am - 5:30pm EST
