Job Summary:
- The Director of Content (Conference & Educational Programs) leads the strategy, development, and management of content for the organization’s programs (conferences, workshops, briefings, webinars), and training programs. This role ensures programming is relevant, innovative, and aligned with industry and BAFT’s priorities. The position also oversees the development of course frameworks and training content, partnering with project managers and instructional designers for production and delivery. Acting as a bridge between members, subject matter experts, and internal teams, this position shapes the learning and thought leadership agenda that supports BAFT’s mission and member engagement.
Key Duties:
- Content Leadership (25%)
- Working with VP, Marketing, Events & Education Programs, set the vision and strategy for content across various programs (conferences, workshops, briefings, webinars) and training programs.
- Identify emerging topics, trends, and regulatory priorities to ensure forward-looking programming.
- Collaborate with members and subject matter experts to secure high-quality content and speakers.
- Program & Event Content (35%)
- Oversee agenda development for BAFT conferences, briefings, webinars and workshops, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Provide direction and lead global/regional program planning committees on program format, themes, sessions, and speaker selection.
- Review and approve program content to maintain quality and consistency.
- Use feedback, data, and industry intelligence to continuously refine programming.
- Training & Learning Content (20%)
- Collaborate with trainers, client, and internal staff to develop learning objectives, course outlines, and materials for on-demand and custom training.
- Ensure training content reflects industry best practices and adult learning principles.
- Partner with project managers and instructional designers on course production, delivery, and evaluation.
- Participate in the Education Advisory Committee (EAC), supporting the VP, Marketing, Events and Educational Programs
- Custom Training & Client Engagement (20%)
- Engage with the EAC, other member institutions, and clients to scope and design tailored training solutions.
- Serve as the content lead in client discussions, ensuring solutions meet organizational and learner needs.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the transaction banking industry, including international trade and cross-border payments, with an established network of industry contacts, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, education, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in program content development, professional learning, or conference/educational programming (association or financial services experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction for content and educational initiatives.
- Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams from across the globe to shape high-impact programming.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and professional development trends; understanding of instructional design workflows (preferred, not required).

Additional Requirements

The pay range for this role is:
90,000 - 130,000 USD per year (United States)
