Summary: 
We are seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer with knowledge of DBT (Data Build Tool) to join our data team. This role involves designing, building, and managing analytics solutions that turn data into actionable insights for decision-making in healthcare. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing our data warehouse schemas, analytics, and reporting capabilities, utilizing DBT to ensure data quality and reliability.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using DBT for data transformation, ensuring high data quality and efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with application engineers, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement analytics solutions that support data-driven decision-making in healthcare. 
  • Design, build, and manage the data warehouse schema, optimizing for performance, scalability, and reliability. 
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, testing, and documentation within the DBT framework. 
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations and standards, including HIPAA, ensuring the security and privacy of patient data. 
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data systems and performance, addressing any issues promptly. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in analytics engineering and healthcare data management. 
 
What Success Looks Like…
In 3 months… 
  • Learned Bamboo Health’s products and the healthcare problems our products are designed to address. 
  • Become a data domain expert in one of our product verticals. 
  • Taken ownership of a data domain and created a DBT process to populate an analytic datastores.
 
In 6 months…
  • Working from a prioritized schedule to create additional datasets that can leverage the power of data products to enable rapid analysis and visualization.
  • Begin taking ownership of another data domain.
 
In 12 months…
  • Establish integrated relationship with application development teams and be the bridge between product development needs and customer requirements.
  • Maintain the data models so that are current and continue to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Build a library of analytic data products for downstream use by visualization technology and data engineering.
 
What You Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or professional experience in data analysis with a strong interest in business problems for healthcare. 
  • 5 years of professional work experience in data analytics.
  • Basic DBT skills with an ability to learn from your teammates to become advanced. SQL experience required.
  • 1 year of strong demonstrated ability to maintain ETL solutions, ideally using Python  
  • Hands on experience utilizing databases on Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle relational database systems. 
  • Experience with software maintenance and/or development using Python, Ruby or other modern scripting languages.
  • Baseline proficiency, or a strong interest, in visualizing data through Power BI, Tableau, Excel pivot tables.
  • A high level of judgment, analytical ability and creativity in investigating problems that require original and innovative solutions.
  • Experience working a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environments. 
  • A work environment that is conducive to high quality virtual interactions. This includes but is not limited to being able to work from a quiet space with minimal interruptions or distractions, and a strong internet connection.
  • The ability to travel periodically for work.
