Summary:

As a Sr. Technical Project Lead, you will lead complex HL7 integrations across EHRs, hospitals, State Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), and third-party data partners, expanding and supporting connectivity across our nationwide healthcare network.

 

In this role, you will serve as the primary technical liaison partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful implementations and ensure alignment across technical requirements, business objectives, project scope, and delivery timelines. Your work will be crucial in enhancing interoperability, strengthening the exchange of real-time, actionable patient care events, and advancing data-sharing capabilities across the healthcare ecosystem. You will support the ongoing technical health of a portfolio of accounts by proactively managing integrations, monitoring risk, and helping ensure successful customer outcomes.

 

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with Engineering, Growth, Account Management, Implementation, Product, and Support.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the technical implementation of Bamboo Health HL7 product offerings for healthcare entities, executing test plans, analyzing message structure and data quality, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with Engineering and external partners through production launch
  • Function as a subject matter expert on specifications across customers segments ensuring that all technical and business requirements are met during the integration process 
  • Build and maintain subject matter expertise on Bamboo Health’s products as team expertise evolves.
  • Serve as the Technical Account Manager for assigned Tier 1 accounts, providing ongoing oversight of complex integrations, proactive communication of technical risks, and resolution of integration issues.
  • Partner with data sources and internal teams to maintain HL7 mappings, implement configuration changes, and ensure reliable connectivity and data exchange
  • Proactively identify implementation risks, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement, partnering with technical teams to develop scalable and sustainable solutions
  • Address high-priority customer escalations, applying SQL-based data analysis to identify root causes and guide internal and external stakeholders toward resolution
  • Use AI and automation tools to accelerate documentation, status reporting, and other administrative work, and surface new use cases as they emerge (e.g., summarization, task routing, or data parsing).
  • Stay curious about emerging AI tools and how they can streamline or enhance work within your function. 

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

  • Develop a strong understanding of Bamboo Health products, integration workflows, and HL7 onboarding processes.
  • Support active implementations through mapping, testing, validation, and issue resolution activities.
  • Build relationships with key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Begin incorporating AI-supported tools into your day-to-day work—whether through analysis, documentation, or task management.

In 6 months…

  • Independently manage technical implementation phases of integration projects, ensuring that Bamboo Health’s integration requirements are met and project documentation is accurate  
  • Provide subject matter expertise to key stakeholders on integrations, ensuring seamless data exchange 
  • Assume Technical Account Manager ownership for assigned Tier 1 accounts, serving as a trusted technical resource for customers, HIE partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Technical Services quality initiatives, including the development, tracking, and reporting of key performance and data-quality metrics.

 

In 12 months…

  • Manage complex implementation projects through delivery, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen technical partnerships and improve processes leading to quality outcomes 
  • Serve as a trusted Technical Account Manager and HL7 subject matter expert for Tier 1 accounts, proactively managing integration health and technical escalations
  • Drive improvements across Technical HL7 Services by leveraging quality metrics and integration trends to identify opportunities for greater data quality, efficiency, scalability, and standardization

 

What You Need:

  • A mission-driven focus with a passion for spearheading change in complex healthcare environments
  • 5+ years of professional experience independently managing healthcare projects involving cross-functional internal and external stakeholders with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proven experience with HL7 standards and specifications is required
  • Experience with integration engines (such as Mirth) is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote environment focused on empathy, self-awareness, and respect for others
  • Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries to analyze large data sets
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365 for creating reports, presentations, and managing communications
  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence) for project management, team collaboration, and knowledge sharing
  • Proficiency with Salesforce products is a plus
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Comfort using or learning AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools) to improve daily workflows.
  • A forward-thinking, curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to apply sound technical judgement in providing solutions
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions.
  • The ability to travel periodically for work
