Communications and Editorial Specialist

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications and Editorial Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing communications, public relations, branding, content creation and editorial review. AsCommunications and Editorial Specialist, you will be responsible for partnering with Bamboo’s communications team and our PR agency to ensure PR opportunities, such as press releases, speaking submissions and award opportunities, are maximized and reported on. They will also be responsible for helping to ensure compliance with brand standards across the company.


What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with internal teams and external PR agency to raise Bamboo Health’s visibility through earned media activity, including press releases, bylined articles, interview briefs, speaking submissions, award nominations, etc. 
  • Manage project timelines, coordinating with agencies, freelancers and internal teams.
  • Fully understand the needs of our target audiences, our key messaging and value drivers and stay current on industry trends and news. 
  • Establish company-wide editorial review process to review content created by employees to ensure consistent brand voice, accuracy, grammar and adherence to Bamboo Health’s content style guide.
  • Assist in the development of high-quality content for various marketing communications channels, including social media, email, website and advertising.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver on overall business objectives, ensuring communications plans reflect their needs and input.
  • Identify appropriate metrics that demonstrate impact; capture and maintain KPIs for brand and marketing communications-related activities, such as earned media placements, speaking engagements, awards, etc.

 

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

  • Thorough understanding of the company's brand identity, strategy, messaging, solutions and target audiences
  • Understanding of content amplification channels and how deliverables fit into overall business objectives.Timely delivery of high-quality public relations-focused content across various marketing communications channels.

In 6 months…

  • Demonstrated growth in key marketing communication performance metrics.
  • Execution of PR plan that drives brand awareness, customer engagement and business objectives.
  • Establishment of company-wide editorial review process.

In 12 months…

  • Sustained improvement in marketing communication performance metrics, demonstrating a clear impact on business objectives.
  • Continued execution of integrated marketing communication campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer engagement and business objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Establishment of the company as a thought leader in healthcare technology industry through strategic public relations and communications initiatives.
  • Development of ongoing relationships with cross-functional teams, such as the product, customer success and sales teams, and external contacts, such as media contacts and vendors.

 

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing communication.
  • A mission-driven focus with a passion for spearheading change
  • Superior understanding and ability to implement editorial standards. 
  • Demonstrated success working with external PR agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in public relations and communications
  • Proficiency in marketing communication analytics and reporting, with the ability to use data to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Operational or client services background with healthcare experience preferred.
  • A high level of judgment, analytical ability and creativity in investigating problems that require original and innovative solutions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing work environment.
  • A work environment that is conducive to high-quality virtual interactions. This includes but is not limited to being able to work from a quiet space with minimal interruptions or distractions and a strong internet connection.
  • The ability to travel periodically for work. 
  • Experience working a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environments.
