About this role:                             

Barron Lighting Group is a leader in manufacturing and marketing its comprehensive line of lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications. We’re looking to grow our business with innovative people who can contribute to our company culture and vision.  As Purchasing Manager, you will play a vital role at Barron by delivering results through providing strong leadership and direction to the Purchasing Team.  Demonstrating value along the dimensions of achieving cost savings, maintenance of quality standards, implementation, and compliance with procurement processes. In addition to managing the strategic sourcing process and develops procurement-related business strategies for procurement in the US and overseas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct the development and management of systems, methods, and procedures to facilitate efficient and effective purchasing department operations.  Ensure all methods and procedures are properly documented.
  • Develop, review, and approve new or improved administrative and clerical procedures to streamline operations and increase efficiency within the department.
  • Develop new supplier sources, and coordinate approval of such sources with the Production and Engineering departments. Obtain and review vendor specifications for raw materials, components, finished goods and ensure compliance with approved technical specifications.
  • Investigate new suppliers. Interview or perform site visits for new vendors in order to determine their ability to meet demand.  Negotiate price and contract terms.
  • Manage the existing supplier maintenance processes to ensure the supplier base continues to meet company requirements for cost, quality, delivery, and customer service.
  • Monitor and review supplier product quality, and coordinate solutions to non-conformance issues with Quality Control, Engineering, and suppliers.
  • Forecast upcoming demand and resolve problems with vendors to expedite deliveries and to preclude supply shortages.
  • Review large requisitions and annual contracts for conformance to company standards and makes recommendations and revisions accordingly.
  • Research and evaluate commodity areas and make recommendations.
  • Manage team of buyers, planners, and inventory management personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of team of buyers, planners, and inventory management personnel.  
  • Establish priorities, assign workloads, and review the more difficult and complex assignments. 
  • Establish and maintain KPIs for each position supervised.
  • Domestic and international around 20% of the time.

What you bring to our vision:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Equivalent required
  • 5 years’ experience in the role of Purchasing Manager.
  • 5 years’ experience related to manufacturing.
  • 3 years’ experience with process improvement and project management.
  • 3 years’ experience as a manager of people in a manufacturing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will be primarily located in an office environment. Position requires standing, sitting, and walking. May require automobile and/or airline travel.

The pay range for this role is:

90,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Barron Office)
