About this role:                                                                                   
Barron Lighting Group is a leader in manufacturing and marketing its comprehensive line of lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications. We’re looking to grow our business with innovative people who can contribute to our company culture and vision.  As Lab Technician, you are responsible for electrical and/or mechanical testing, evaluation of new and existing emergency lighting and luminaire products and managing product compliance certifications. This technical role will understand all applicable test certifications for lighting (i.e., UL1598, UL924, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Test products or compliance to UL, CSA, DOE and/or test requirements specified by the product engineer.
  • Perform “destructive testing” or “test to failure” activities as part of the product development process.
  • Verify and validate proposed and/or implemented changes to existing products.
  • Create test reports that document test results.
  • Participate with product failure analysis collaboratively with project engineer including the suggestion of product design improvements based on observations and test results.
  • Coordinate and track the receipt of test samples and movement of samples within the lab and storage area.
  • Responsible for accurate data being published in test reports.
  • Maintain calibration and records of equipment in the lab.
  • Demonstrate compliance /regulatory test to Engineers during training sessions. 
What you bring to our vision:
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of lab experience
  • Working knowledge of electronic equipment i.e. oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzer
  • Must have ability to use all inspection equipment, i.e. micrometers, calipers, height gauge, CMM’s and force gauge
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical experience 
  • Ability to interpret schematics and CAD drawings.

19 - 22 USD per hour (Glendale, Arizona)
