About the role

  • Blue Chip Building Maintenance is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Business Development / Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team in New York City and New Jersey. This role is essential to expanding our client base and strengthening our presence in the commercial cleaning market. The ideal candidate is a natural hunter who thrives on building new relationships, understanding client needs, and closing deals. You’ll be the face of our company for potential clients, crafting customized service proposals and ensuring a seamless transition from pitch to service delivery.

Sales & Business Development Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new B2B opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, digital outreach, and in-person visits.
  • Client Needs Assessment: Conduct on-site walkthroughs and consultations to understand clients' cleaning requirements and tailor service recommendations accordingly.
  • Sales Presentations & Proposals: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to key decision-makers, facility managers, and business owners.
  • Full-Cycle Sales Management: Own the process from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed service agreement.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and timely records in the CRM system (e.g., HubSpot or Zoho), tracking leads, client interactions, follow-ups, and contract milestones.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting: Maintain an active sales pipeline, meet or exceed monthly targets, and report progress to sales leadership.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Operations and Client Services to ensure client satisfaction and smooth hand-offs after sale closure.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and local market dynamics to position Blue Chip as a top-tier provider.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years in B2B outside sales, preferably in commercial cleaning, facilities services, property management, or a related industry.
  • Sales Drive: Self-starter with a "hunter" mindset, strong closing ability, and relentless follow-up.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills — you’re comfortable speaking with everyone from building superintendents to C-level execs.
  • Tech Skills: Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or Zoho); Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Organization: Able to manage multiple leads and proposals simultaneously in a fast-paced, field-based role.
  • Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable access to transportation within NYC’s five boroughs and New Jersey (stipend to be provided)
  • Bonus Points For:
    • Experience with RFPs or janitorial bid proposals
    • Connections within NYC’s commercial real estate or facilities networks

The pay range for this role is:

55,000 - 65,000 USD per year (Blue Chip HQ)
