Beehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine’s speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.
Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role will be located at our Cincinnati, Ohio facility.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Maintenance Technician to play a critical role in standing up and maintaining our additively enabled casting (AEC) facility. This is a unique environment that combines the stringent climate and chemical control requirements of advanced 3D ceramic printing with the heavy industrial utility needs of a metal foundry. As a Senior Technician, you will lead the installation support, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of all building systems, industrial utilities, and production equipment. You will be instrumental in developing our facility's preventative maintenance (PM) programs from the ground up.
What You'll Do...
- Facility Stand-up & Commissioning
- Partner with engineering and operations leaders to coordinate the installation, utility tie-in, and commissioning of new equipment (3D printers, sintering ovens, furnaces, and post-processing stations)
- Help establish, document, and implement a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance (PM) program using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Manage and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized installations, facility upgrades, and major repairs
- Industrial Utilities & Foundry Systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot foundry utilities, including industrial cooling water systems, compressed air networks, and specialty gas manifolds
- Service and maintain high-temperature process equipment, including furnaces, kilns, and associated power supplies
- Oversee and maintain critical industrial ventilation, dust collection systems, and exhaust scrubbers for foundry operations and chemical leaching stations
- Additive Manufacturing & Lab Environment
- Ensure strict climate control parameters (HVAC, temperature, and humidity) are maintained in the additive manufacturing lab, as ceramic resins and powders are highly environmentally sensitive
- Maintain safe storage, handling, and ventilation systems for hazardous materials
- General Maintenance, Electrical & Safety
- Perform advanced electro-mechanical troubleshooting on facility and production equipment (including motors, pumps, VFDs, sensors, and basic PLC diagnostics)
- Act as the facility's first responder for critical utility failures, performing root-cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions
- Champion facility safety by strictly enforcing and adhering to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash protocols, Confined Space, and Hazmat regulations
You have...
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification or relevant associate degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial facilities maintenance, manufacturing equipment maintenance, or plant engineering
- Strong multi-craft background with proven expertise in industrial electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, and pneumatics
- Experience maintaining large-scale HVAC/climate control systems, industrial chillers, and air compressors
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Nice to have...
- Previous experience in a foundry, metal casting, or high-temperature manufacturing environment
- Experience maintaining clean rooms or strictly climate-controlled manufacturing spaces
- Familiarity with setting up PMs in a CMMS
- Active electrical license or HVAC certification is highly desirable
- Experience in a "startup" or greenfield/brownfield plant commissioning environment
