Senior Industrial Engineer

Role Overview: 

This role is a dynamic position whose function is to develop and maintain material 3D printing, machining and post processing process es to enable repeatable shop operations that improve safety, quality, and cost. This position will partner with EH&S, Quality, Operations and Engineering to implement process improvements, corrective actions and drive process capability in metal additive printing, machining, and post processes. 

 Responsibilities: 

 

·      Design, implement, and optimize additive manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

·      Evaluate and troubleshoot current manufacturing systems to identify improvement opportunities.

·      Lead projects related to new product introduction and process improvements, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.

·      Lead RCCA initiatives to investigate and resolve production issues, process defects, and quality concerns.

·      Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to seamlessly integrate additive manufacturing technologies into the production process.

·      Collect and analyze production data to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

·      Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of additive manufacturing processes.

·      Use proactive methods such as FMEA to identify and mitigate process risk 

·      Creating procedures and work instructions for critical production steps to meet quality requirements. (Ex: de-powdering, prep for shipping, inspection criteria, machining set-up, etc) 

 Main Qualifications: 

·      Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field 

·  6+ years experience on industrial engineering in related industry 

·      Problem Solving experiencing using Sig Sigma or other industry standards 

·      Demonstrated ability to implement effective corrective actions and continuous improvement.

·      Proficiency in CAD Software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Preferred Qualifications: 

·      Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field 

·      3 + years of hands-on experience with additive Printers, including L-PBF and SLA/Binderjet technologies, post-processing and quality assurance of 3D-printed parts.

·      Experience in rapid process development techniques Statistical Process Control and data analytics to drive key decisions 

·      Ability to travel(<15%)

·      Knowledge of process modeling techniques and proficiency in utilization of modeling to improve process outcomes

 Interpersonal Skills: 

·      Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

·      Excellent communication and leadership abilities

·      Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and manage complex projects

·      Hands on involvement with equipment and processes 

·      Methodical and systematic approach
