Role Overview:  

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of production, post-processing, machining, and shipping & receiving for Beehive’s Advanced Manufacturing’s Knoxville, Tennessee site.  The selected candidate will lead a team of advanced manufacturing technicians, maintenance technicians, and machinists, to produce, refine, and deliver additively manufactured hardware and components to customers in the aerospace, aviation, and adjacent industries. This position is responsible for fostering a team focused work environment to achieve site and company goals and is also responsible for participating in activities to enhance the growth and development of all manufacturing operations team members. This includes safety, environmental, productivity, quality, maintenance, continuous improvement and financial performance. 

 

Responsibilities:  

·             Oversee and monitor daily operations within Advanced Manufacturing  

·             Lead the daily team meeting to facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration  

·             Set priorities daily based on schedule and resources by partnering with Production Control  

·             Ensure full compliance with EHS and Quality requirements, and be an advocate for our programs  

·             Report out on financial reporting and metrics  

·             Operate with a continuous improvement mindset and facilitate projects and initiatives to make those improvements  

·             Measure on time delivery for customer orders and equipment utilization  

·             Lead and develop a team of CNC Machinists and Advanced Manufacturing Technicians  

·             Provide accountability with team members to company and operations goals  

·             Identify opportunities for team engagement and partner with site leaders to implement  

·             Participate in plant hiring activities including interviewing and selection  

 

 Required Qualifications:  

·             7+ years of relevant experience in advanced manufacturing environment  

·             5+ years of experience in either an informal or formal leadership role, involving coaching and growing team members as well as creating a high performing team  

·             Working knowledge of metal additive manufacturing processes, technology, and equipment OR working knowledge of CNC machines  

·             Ability to develop, enable, and empower team members  

·             Knowledge of general business software such as Microsoft Office, CAD software (NX/Solidworks) and aptitude to learn new applications  

·             Ability to understand and drive key business and operations metrics
