Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Jet Engine Systems Engineering Leader to lead and drive the development of next-generation technology and propulsion systems for Beehive Ind. This role will develop technology for future clean-sheet engine designs and support advancement of Beehive’s manufacturing capabilities. Primary focus for the role will be to create proof of concepts to demonstrate the viability of new technologies to enable the business and expand the product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in new engine architectures, new technology development, advanced propulsion, digital engineering, and advanced manufacturing (including additive manufacturing, AM) while also demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and team-building capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of clean-sheet jet engine conceptual designs/proposals leveraging design for additive manufacturing, including development plans for key technologies to advance the product and business capabilities before a formal program launch.
• Oversee technology development efforts, including novel materials, advanced combustion, thermal management, and aerodynamics. Support quantifying how the advanced designs relate to manufacturing and procurement strategies. 
• Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering tools to enhance design efficiency, validation, and integration.
• Incorporate AM and 3D printing strategies into the design process for components, improving weight, cost, and performance, and for fast prototyping.
• Lead a team with a diverse background in design, analysis, testing, manufacturing / supply chain, and AI / software.
• Collaborate with Beehive internal and DoD stakeholders to ensure program alignment with strategic objectives and requirements.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering technical growth and leadership capabilities.
• Create dedicated technology development road maps which lead to proof-of-concept demonstrations.

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in jet engine systems engineering, with a focus on new technology introduction/demonstration, clean-sheet engine designs and DoD programs.
• Demonstrated experience leading technology development and delivering new technology which can be used on future programs.
• Strong expertise in propulsion system integration, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and mechanical design.
• Proven leadership experience, including leading multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and government stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Digital Engineering, MBSE, or AI-driven design tools.
• Experience with AM / 3D printing for aerospace hardware, including design optimization for AM processes.
• Direct experience working with the DoD.
• Proficiency in Teamcenter, NX, ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Experience writing proposals for new technology and/or new programs
