Senior Accountant

Overview:

The Senior Accountant role will serve as the backbone of the Finance & Accounting organization, helping develop and execute crucial accounting processes and policy aligned with US GAAP and US Government Contract Accounting (i.e., FAR regulations). The Senior Accountant will manage key financial statement areas including Revenue-Recognition, Inventory Valuation, Fixed Assets, and Lease Accounting, as well as research technical accounting guidance, presenting both conclusions and financial-statement impact to management and auditors. This role will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager with daily interactions across Operations and frequent updates with the Controller, VP of Finance, and COO. 

What You’ll Do: 

·       Lead and execute end-to-end monthly accounting and close activities for all Beehive Industries Divisions – including GAAP accounting and record-keeping, GL maintenance and journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting

·       Support government contract accounting compliance, including reporting under FAR, CAS, and DCAA guidelines

·       Assist in preparation of periodic job cost reporting for all government contracts used by Program Finance and Program Management personnel

·       Support the annual financial statement audit process serving as liaison with the Company’s external auditors

·       Assist in calculation of indirect rates and submission of annual incurred cost submissions (ICS)

·       Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, including COGS, inventory movement, and valuation

·       Manage lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842, including tracking, classification, amortization schedules, and disclosures

·       Support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s ERP, NetSuite within requirements of GAAP and FAR compliance

·       Implement and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

·       Help oversee and coach AR/AP Analysts in execution of supplier invoicing, cash application, and customer collections

·       Build strong cross-functional partnerships with key department leads including Procurement and FP&A

·       Support Controller and 3rd party advisors to enable Tax Compliance and Accounting; ensure timely tax filings and payments

 

 You Are… 

·       Someone with deep experience in technical Accounting and US GAAP framework

·       Experienced with cost accounting and inventory valuation

·       Comfortable in a project-based accounting framework

·       Someone with a positive and can-do attitude; there is no challenge or roadblock too big – you will knock down walls and find a solution

·       Very analytical. You enjoy getting into the details to explain variances, trends, and operational drivers 

·       Experienced with supporting technical teams to implement Accounting framework and policy in an ERP environment

·       Passionate about collaborating with people and have a team-player mindset

 

 Requirements: 

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred. Master’s Degree in Accounting is a plus

·       3+ years of experience in Accounting

·       US government contract accounting experience including a background working with Cost-plus, Fixed Fee, and Time & Materials contract types

·       Project-based manufacturing or industrial background

·       Knowledge and experience with lease accounting under ASC 842

·       Must have experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP environment 

·       Advanced skills required in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$130,000 base salary.  Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
