Senior Accountant

Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant role will serve as the backbone of the Finance & Accounting organization, helping develop and execute crucial Accounting process and policy aligned with US GAAP and US Government Contract Accounting (i.e., FAR regulations). The Senior Accountant will manage key financial statement areas including Revenue-Recognition, Inventory Valuation, Fixed Assets, Stock-based Compensation, and Lease Accounting, as well as research technical accounting guidance, presenting both conclusions and financial-statement impact to management and auditors. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller with daily interactions across Operations and frequent updates with the VP of Finance and COO. 


What You’ll Do: 

  • Support the Controller in the execution and design of BKM Accounting frameworks in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Lead and execute end-to-end monthly Accounting and close activities for all Beehive Industries Divisions – including GAAP accounting and record-keeping, GL maintenance, financial reporting, internal controls, and balance sheet reconciliations. 
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit process serving as the lead liaison with the Company’s external auditors. 
  • Support Controller in maintaining core Finance & Accounting policies over Travel, Procure-to-Pay, Rev-Rec, Billing, Lease Accounting, and Asset Requisition in compliance with FAR regulations. 
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s new Finance ERP.
  • Support Controller and VP of Finance in preparation of Financial results and executive level reporting for Monthly Business Reviews as well as Board of Directors presentations. 
  • Help oversee and coach AR / AP Analysts in execution of supplier invoicing, cash application, and customer collections. 
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with key department leads including Procurement and FP&A.  
  • Support Controller and 3rd party advisors to enable Tax Compliance and Accounting ; ensure timely tax filings and payments.  

 You Are… 

  • Someone with deep experience in technical Accounting and US GAAP framework. 
  • Have experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation. 
  • Someone with a positive and can-do attitude; there is no challenge or roadblock too big – you will knock down walls and find a solution! 
  • Very analytical. You enjoy getting into the details to explain variances, trends, and operational drivers. 
  • Have experience supporting technical teams to implement Accounting framework and policy in an ERP environment. 
  • Extremely passionate about collaborating with people and have a team-player mindset. 

 Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred. Master’s Degree in Accounting is a plus. 
  • 3 – 7 years of experience in Accounting. 
  • Heavy manufacturing or industrial background is preferred. 
  • Big Four public accounting experience is a plus.
  • US government contract accounting experience is a plus. 
  • Must have experience with NetSuite or similar ERP environment. 
  • Advanced skills required in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$130,000 base salary.  Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
