Role Overview
The Maintenance Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Facilities and Maintenance Department supporting manufacturing, engineering, and production activities. This role provides direct supervision to maintenance technicians and facilities personnel; coordinates contractors and vendors; prioritizes maintenance activities; and ensures facility systems and manufacturing equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
This position oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment, facility systems, utilities, and production support infrastructure, including CNC and Automated manufacturing equipment. The Supervisor serves as the primary escalation point for day-to-day maintenance and facility issues, leads troubleshooting and repair efforts, coordinates resources to minimize downtime, and supports equipment installations, facility improvements, and production growth.
What You’ll Do...
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance and facilities staff.
- Assign and prioritize daily work, lead planning meetings, and provide ongoing performance feedback.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and skills training for technicians.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a strong safety culture while meeting quality, reliability, and production support goals.
- Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for facility systems and production equipment using CMMS.
- Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial production equipment, engaging internal resources and OEM support as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary contact for equipment downtime, emergencies, and after-hours response.
- Follow OEM guidelines and internal standards for maintenance and documentation.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), implement corrective and preventive actions, and support equipment installations, moves, upgrades, and commissioning.
- Lead hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial utility systems.
- Perform facility inspections and audits; identify and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate contractor and vendor activities for repairs, upgrades, shutdowns, and projects.
- Ensure adherence to safety requirements, schedule, scope, and quality expectations.
- Obtain quotes, support purchasing processes, and manage service contracts as needed.
- Manage spare parts and critical inventory to minimize downtime while controlling costs.
- Recommend and implement maintenance process improvements and best practices.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and leadership.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local codes, and internal policies and procedures.
- Enforce LOTO, and other critical safety programs.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized workplace through training, coaching, and consistent enforcement of standards.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Formal training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance-related trade preferred
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing support environments
- Experience leading or supervising maintenance technicians or skilled trade personnel
- Strong background in industrial production equipment environments preferred
- Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and maintenance execution in a manufacturing setting
- Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and facility service providers
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
- Ability to diagnose machine downtime using electrical schematics, ladder logic, PLC diagnostics, and machine alarms
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to partner with production, manufacturing engineering, and OEM service providers to troubleshoot equipment issues and improve machine performance
- Experience supporting machine installations, commissioning, equipment moves, and production startups
- Ability to analyze equipment performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine availability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or maintenance reliability certifications
- Strong understanding of CNC and Automated manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with facility expansions, renovations, or capital projects
- HVAC, electrical, or mechanical trade certification
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with CMMS optimization or maintenance program improvement initiatives.
- Experience implementing maintenance standards or improving facility workflows
