The Director, Environmental Health & Safety(EHS) is responsible for the strategic development and execution of our EHS programs through-out multiple facilities. This role will focus on cultivating a culture of EHS excellence, safety leadership, active risk reduction in the business unit and continuous compliance through support and alignment with site leadership and engineering. The right candidate must have strong problem solving and communication skills, a proven background in developing EHS management systems. This includes development, implementation, and evaluation of EHS initiatives, injury and illness prevention strategies, safe work practices.

 

Responsibilities:  

 

·       Interact and partner directly with site and functional leadership in the development and execution of focused EHS initiatives and business objectives; creates organizational level strategies to support safety programs for internal and external stakeholders.

·       Build, lead and cultivate a team in multiple sites, EHS representatives to support actions and meet compliance obligations. 

·      Complete regulatory reporting as required by local, state, and federal requirements and interact with regulators and key stakeholders. 

·       Implement effective injury and illness case management, ensuring appropriate reporting and investigation of injuries and illnesses, and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

·      Responsible for Hazardous Materials and ensure regulatory agency compliance (labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.) 

 ·      Manages EHS training by integrating subject matter expertise into curriculum development and delivery to all employees and contractors.

·      Lead emergency management planning, rehearsal, and coordination of internal resources with the DoD and local authorities.

 


Education / Experience / Qualifications: 

 

·       A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational, Health & Safety Sciences or similar

·       15 years of relevant experience that includes at least 7 years developing, leading, maintaining and sustaining EHS programs in a Test or R&D environment.  

·       Experience with additive manufacturing or combustible dust processes a plus

·       Proven experience with process or program management 

·       Dynamic and active communicator with strong collaboration skills 

·       Technical and ISO document writing a plus. 

·       OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training a plus 

·     Lean/Six Sigma or TPS experience a plus

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $160,000-$200,000 base salary.  Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
