Role Overview:
Beehive Industries is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as our Facility Security Officer (FSO). Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the FSO will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of our industrial security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant government regulations. The FSO will be the primary point of contact for all security-related matters and will ensure the protection of classified information, personnel, and facilities at our Englewood, Colorado site. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach and strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive industrial security program in accordance with the NISPOM, DoD directives, and other applicable government regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other government security agencies.
- Manage the facility clearance process, including preparing and submitting required documentation and serving as the liaison with DCSA.
- Develop and conduct security awareness, training, and education (SA&TE) programs for all employees
- Process personnel security clearances (PSCs) for employees, including initiating investigations, managing periodic reinvestigations, and maintaining accurate security clearance records in DISS (Defense Information System for Security).
- Implement and manage access control procedures, including visitor control and alarm systems.
- Establish and maintain procedures for the control, accountability, transmission, and destruction of classified information
- Conduct internal security self-inspections to ensure compliance with security regulations and company policies.
- Investigate and report security violations and incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) and other required security documentation.
- Manage the safeguarding of classified information during after-hours and emergency situations.
- Ensure compliance with physical security requirements, including perimeter protection, intrusion detection systems, and secure storage containers.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant security policies, directives, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate security requirements into company operations.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration) or equivalent experience
- Must have experience taking a non-FCL accredited facility to an FCL accredited facility
- Due to contract requirements with the Department of Defense, U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in industrial security, preferably within a government contracting environment.
- Experience with SCIF accreditation and knowledge of ICD-705 requirements
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the NISPOM and other relevant government security regulations.
- Experience managing the personnel security clearance process, including DISS.
- Familiarity with physical security requirements and access control systems.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience serving as an FSO.
- Completion of FSO training courses (e.g., DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities).
- Experience with COMSEC (Communications Security) procedures.
- Knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies.
Security Clearance Requirement:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Previous security clearance preferred but not required.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $112,200 - $161,500 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
