Student Social Media Manager

About the role

  • The Student Social Media Manager supports the Department of Psychological Sciences by creating, managing and curating content for its social media platform. This role is ideal for a student with strong communication skills, creativity and interest in connecting fellow students to departmental news, events and opportunities via Instagram and LinkedIn.

What you'll do

  • Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram and other platforms twice a week and as needed.
  • Promote departmental events, alumni stories, student achievements and faculty highlights.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff and Psych Club to align messaging and university values.
  • Take photos and gather content from events and student life.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and suggest strategies for increasing reach.
  • Ensure that all posts reflect the department's tone, mission and professionalism. 

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, grammar and communication skills.
  • Creativity and an eye for visual design.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (especially instagram).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Experience with Canva or other design tools is helpful but not required.
  • Psychological Sciences major
  • Prefered recommendation

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment.

 

Physical Demands:

This role will do do sedentary work as well as move around campus to for events.

 

Expected Hours of Work:

This role works 1-5 hours per week. There is flexibility based on workload and schedule.

Student Employees may not work more that 20 hours a week between all student jobs during the school year.

The pay range for this role is:

14.25 - 14.25 USD per hour (Bethel University)
