Vice President, Engineering

We’re looking for a VP, Engineering who thrives in an early stage startup environment and has a proven track record of scaling both teams and technology to support rapid growth. In this role, you’ll lead and expand our engineering team, bringing in top talent from your network to help us drive innovation and meet our goals. You’ll play a key role in shaping our technology strategy and building the infrastructure needed to support our growing client base.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Roadmapping

  • Collaborate with the CTO to set and implement an engineering vision aligned with company objectives.
  • Balance immediate needs with long-term architecture, ensuring our platform remains scalable and secure.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.


Team Building, Management, and Communication

  • Grow the engineering function through hiring top talent, and establishing effective structures for both product and platform teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineering leaders, promoting clear career progression and professional growth.
  • Communicate engineering priorities and challenges to executive leadership, ensuring alignment across the organization.


Operational Excellence

  • Champion our lean product development mindset, optimizing for rapid iteration, user feedback, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the operations and improvement of our DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning, observability).
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of our AWS-based, cloud-native architecture.
  • Identify and address technical debt, ensuring a healthy balance between speed and stability.


Process & Automation

  • Drive process improvements using metrics and automation, implementing self-service capabilities where possible.
  • Formalize knowledge management, guilds, and conventions to streamline onboarding and enable team-wide autonomy.


What you bring:

  • Leadership Experience: 10+ years in engineering leadership roles, with success in scaling teams at a growth-stage company.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep familiarity with AWS cloud, React + NodeJS + Python stack,  DevSecOps tooling and practices, CI/CD workflows, and lean development principles.
  • People Management: Strong track record of recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent.
  • Process Orientation: Skilled in automating product delivery workflows, using metrics for continuous improvement, and building self-service frameworks.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance near-term deliverables with strategic technology investments, and creating alignment in business and technical objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortable interfacing with executives, product teams, and external stakeholders
