Manager, Sales Development

About the role


We are seeking an experienced and passionate Manager, Sales Development, to lead a team of 6-10 SDRs responsible for building a top-of-funnel pipeline. You will balance the science of sales development with the art of motivating, coaching, and driving consistent performance across the team. You will partner closely with Marketing, RevOps, and Account executives to scale campaigns, build and experiment with messaging, and be a key stakeholder in ensuring every engagement builds trust with BetterComp’s ICP.


We are seeking someone based in the Pacific or Mountain time zone.

What you’ll do:

  • Scale and manage a high-performing team of 6+ SDRs who consistently overachieve on aggressive goals.
  • Own and drive execution of BetterComp’s new business pipeline goals by understanding and analyzing top-of-the-funnel input metrics, pipeline quality, and conversion rates. 
  • Shape deep partnerships with Marketing, Sales, and RevOps to collaborate on new marketing campaigns and field events successfully, meet stretch pipeline goals, optimize your business for efficiency, accelerate ramp time to productivity, and ensure your team has a crisp understanding of why BetterComp is chosen by our customers. 
  • Attract, hire, develop, and retain high-performing SDRs who will become key pieces of BetterComp’s future success. 
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and motivate team members to achieve aggressive targets despite the constraints of a start-up.


What you bring:

  • 2+ years of leadership experience with a track record of excellence leading high-performing, pipeline generation, and closing organizations in a fast-growing SaaS company (preferred)
  • Excited by attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining world-class talent early in their Sales careers
  • A deep sense of ownership, accountability, pride, and passion for your work
  • Strategic enough to build a team but tactical enough to execute on a day-to-day basis
  • Have a reputation with cross-functional teams as being collaborative, innovative, accountable, and reliable
  • Have an obsession with being data-driven, highly analytical, lead through influence, are a structured thinker
  • Think big by working to achieve a deep understanding of predictable revenue models, mastery of sales development, as well as leadership philosophy and development.

    • Base salary range for this position: $80k-$105k (annually based on experience and location)
    • OTE salary range: $125k-$150k
