Campground General Maintenance Technician - Sterett Creek

The Campground General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the campground. This position requires a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grounds Maintenance:
    • Maintain cleanliness of campground grounds, including:
      • Sweeping, raking, and removing debris.
      • Mowing lawns and trimming hedges.
      • Cleaning and maintaining pathways, roads, and parking areas.
      • Removing snow and ice during winter months (if applicable).
    • Assist with landscaping projects, such as planting flowers and shrubs.
    • Maintain campground amenities
  • Building Maintenance:
    • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on campground buildings, including:
      • Plumbing repairs (minor leaks, unclogging drains).
      • Electrical repairs (changing light bulbs, minor electrical issues).
      • Painting and minor carpentry work.
      • Cleaning and maintaining restrooms and shower facilities.
    • Assist with preventative maintenance inspections on buildings and equipment.
  • Campsite Maintenance:
    • Assist with campsite setup and takedown.
    • Ensure campsites are clean and well-maintained between guest stays.
    • Perform minor repairs to campsites, such as leveling pads and fixing tent stakes.
  • Safety and Security:
    • Conduct regular safety inspections of the campground.
    • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately.
    • Assist with campground security measures as needed.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide friendly and helpful assistance to campers.
    • Respond promptly and effectively to guest requests and concerns.
    • Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including special events and emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
