Do you have a knack for operational leadership, a passion for team development, and a love for creating lifelong smiles? Legendary Smiles Orthodontics is looking for a dynamic, experienced Practice Manager to oversee and lead our Reno practice to new heights!
What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
- Experience: 1 to 3+ years of dental practice management experience (orthodontic experience is a plus!).
- Education: Associate Degree (AA) in Business, Management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Mastery: Working knowledge of dental billing protocols, insurance processing, and practice management software.
- Leadership Traits: Proven ability to lead with empathy, resolve team conflicts, prioritize projects, and manage time effectively.
- Safety & Compliance: This position is safety-sensitive; successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

As our Practice Manager, you will report directly to the Regional Operations Director and work alongside a world-class panel of dedicated, highly credentialed orthodontists:
- Dr. Alan Larkin, DMD, MS: Raised in Las Vegas, Dr. Larkin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry before completing a 30-month orthodontic specialty residency in St. Louis. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he stays at the forefront of the field as an active member of the ADA, AAO, and Northern Nevada Dental Society. Outside the clinic, he and his wife love spending time with their five children—swimming, snow skiing, riding ATVs, playing the piano, and dining at Port of Subs!
- Dr. James Mungcal, DDS (ABO Board-Certified): Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Mungcal earned his DDS from the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry and served as Chief Resident during his 3-year specialty training at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NYC. A Board-Certified Diplomate of the ABO, Dr. Mungcal brings a passion for evidence-based care and patient confidence. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, Sierra lake trips, stand-up comedy, online gaming, and discovering new local dessert spots!
- Dr. Jonathan Starley, DMD, MS (ABO Board-Certified): Raised locally in Sparks, NV, Dr. Starley earned his DMD from UNLV and completed his orthodontic residency at the University of the Pacific. A member of the ADA and AAO, he focuses on conservative, personalized care balancing aesthetics and function. Back home in Reno/Sparks, Dr. Starley and his high school sweetheart wife, Lexi, love raising their three young children, watching movies, playing board/video games, golfing, and cheering on the A's, 49ers, and Warriors!
What You’ll Do Every Day (Responsibilities)
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Provide a motivational workplace by encouraging, coaching, and supporting individual growth and professional development.
- Operational & Financial Management: Monitor and manage daily performance metrics including production, collections, recalls, new patient counts, and financial tracking.
- Schedule & Workflow Supervision: Manage front and back office team schedules, morning huddles, monthly staff meetings, and patient flow.
- Compliance & Credentialing: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and safety regulations while coordinating with credentialing specialists for doctor hospital and insurance credentials.
- Marketing & Practice Growth: Collaborate with the marketing department to execute local campaigns, monitor trends, and maintain communication systems with patients and referring doctors.
- Facility & Vendor Oversight: Maintain office equipment, procure supplies using approved vendors, and ensure the practice maintains a clean, professional appearance at all times.
