About the role
Bluewave is seeking an experienced, senior construction professional to be a traveling supervisor of contractors’ field performance. The position will report to the Head of the Execution team but be assigned to projects based on ongoing needs.  

What you'll do
  • Be responsible for reviewing CPM schedules and the planning of upcoming field activities with Project Managers
  • Liaise with contractor field personnel in the preparation and execution of field work, testing of work and documentation of planned, active and completed work.  
  • Responsible for frequent visits to job sites, validation of contractors’ periodic progress reports, review contractor’s performance – productivity, quality, safety and reliability
  • Responsible for knowing and understanding the contract and contractor obligations as it relates to scopes of work, schedule and demarcations of work
  • Perform quality control inspections, generate reports, follow up on corrective actions 
  • Perform punch-list walks, generate punch-list reports and follow up on remediation and corrective actions 
  • Report on field observations using the firm’s construction management platform
  • Ensure the QA/QC procedures are followed, and any deviations are documented and corrected
  • Meet periodically with project stakeholders – local code enforcement officials, contractors, etc. to communicate project progress
  • Support the project managers and project engineers on their needs for successful project delivery on time and well documented
Qualifications
  • Must be a concise and efficient communicator - Ability to document and convey the salient points of interest amongst a large volume of information

  • 10+ years mix of education and experience in construction management of renewable energy projects

  • Ability to focus on job objectives for projects at hand in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of best practices in the construction industry and trades

  • 60-80% travel 3-4 days per week
