BlueWave is seeking an Asset Manager to help oversee the operational, financial, and commercial performance of our operating solar and battery storage portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring that BlueWave’s generation assets deliver reliable clean energy, achieve P&L targets, and uphold long-term value. The Asset Manager will work cross-functionally with capital markets, engineering, construction, IT, and O&M partners to safeguard performance, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory, contractual, and community obligations are met.

Candidates based in Massachusetts are strongly preferred; however, we will also consider remote applicants located elsewhere in the Northeast (NH, ME, VT, CT, RI, or NY). This role may be performed remotely, with the expectation of travel to project sites and occasional visits to our Boston office.

What you'll do:

  • Own full P&L responsibility for operating assets, ensuring revenue realization and expense discipline against projections.
  • Oversee seamless asset turnover from construction to operations, validating data integrity, documentation, and warranty enforcement.
  • Help develop and manage annual budgets, operating plans, and long-term refurbishment strategies.
  • Help lead O&M vendor strategy: issue RFPs, negotiate contracts, manage performance, and maintain strong subcontractor relationships.
  • Monitor and optimize technical performance via SCADA and asset management platforms; drive corrective actions where needed.
  • Manage risk exposure across operational reliability, commercial/offtake arrangements, vendor performance, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Establish and maintain robust warranty, maintenance, and spare parts programs to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Help lead reporting on asset availability, production, financial performance, and ESG impacts for internal stakeholders and external investors.
  • Support project financing efforts by maintaining accurate historical data and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with IT to monitor and strengthen cybersecurity and data integrity at the asset level.
  • Drive continuous improvement in asset management practices as the portfolio scales.
  • No direct reports immediately but anticipated as the Asset Management team expands.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, or another relevant field; strong technical background through education or experience is required
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in asset management, operations, or facilities management for US-based power generation (preferably solar/storage or DG-scale).
  • Proven financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgets, and forecasting for operating assets.
  • Strong grasp of IPP ownership models; balancing long-term asset value with near-term operational and financial performance.
  • Familiarity with SCADA and asset management systems (e.g., PowerTrack, PowerFactors, BluePoint, Maximo).
  • Skilled in contract management and vendor oversight (O&M providers, subcontractors, general contractors).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems (NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% to visit project sites.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with wholesale and retail electricity markets, ISO/RTO dispatch, or energy trading (enabling BlueWave to optimize asset value beyond contracted revenues).
  • Familiarity with community solar programs and customer management requirements
  • Established vendor and contractor relationships in the solar and storage ecosystem; accelerating procurement, troubleshooting, and scaling of operations.
  • Exposure to innovative asset management practices (predictive analytics, digital twins, advanced monitoring) that drive continuous performance improvement.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 per year + bonus.

Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, certifications, and relevant experience as outlined in the job description above.
