BlueWave is seeking a Technical Asset Manager to oversee the operational performance, reliability, and lifecycle value of our operating solar and battery storage portfolio. This role plays a key part in ensuring that BlueWave’s assets deliver consistent, high-quality generation and achieve long-term performance targets.

The Technical Asset Manager will take a hands-on approach to monitoring system performance, managing O&M providers, enforcing warranties, and leading issue resolution across our distributed generation (DG)-scale projects. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and operational expertise, complemented by a solid understanding of financial and contractual drivers that influence asset value.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with BlueWave’s engineering, project execution, capital markets, IT, and compliance teams to ensure that every system in our operating fleet is performing optimally and sustainably.

What you'll do:

  • Lead Technical Oversight: Monitor system performance through SCADA and asset management platforms, diagnose underperformance, and lead root-cause analysis with O&M partners and engineers.
  • Operational Excellence: Own the technical and operational health of assigned assets ensuring availability, uptime, and production meet or exceed targets.
  • O&M and Vendor Management: Develop and manage O&M strategy - issue RFPs, negotiate service agreements, track KPIs, and drive accountability among third-party service providers.
  • Warranty & Equipment Management: Oversee warranty enforcement, spare parts tracking, and preventive maintenance schedules for major components (inverters, transformers, batteries).
  • Transition & Data Integrity: Lead technical handover from construction to operations, validating commissioning data, documentation, telemetry, and control systems.
  • Budget & P&L Oversight: Support budget creation and expense management, ensuring operational decisions align with financial performance and lifecycle cost objectives.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards; oversee incident reporting and corrective action plans.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement processes to improve asset monitoring, data analytics, and reporting capabilities as BlueWave’s operating fleet scales.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver clear, data-driven reporting on performance metrics, operational issues, and asset optimization strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Preconstruction, and Asset Management team members to share lessons learned, inform design improvements, and enhance long-term reliability.
  • No direct reports immediately but anticipated as the Asset Management team expands.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy preferred) or related technical field.
  • 7+ years in asset management, O&M, field engineering, or operations for power generation assets (solar, storage, or DG-scale strongly preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage technical performance and reliability across multiple operating sites.
  • Hands-on familiarity with SCADA, DAS, and asset management platforms (e.g., PowerFactors, PowerTrack, BluePoint, or Maximo).
  • Demonstrated experience managing O&M contracts, site technicians, and vendor relationships.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical system components, interconnection, and grid compliance requirements.
  • Strong data analysis skills; ability to interpret performance data and translate into actionable solutions.
  • Financial literacy and experience managing budgets or P&L for operating assets.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% to visit project sites.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) operations and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of ISO/RTO operations and energy market interfaces.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools, digital twins, or other advanced asset management technologies.
  • Existing network of O&M vendors and field service providers in the solar and storage space.
  • Experience in a distributed generation IPP environment, managing multiple small-to-medium scale projects concurrently.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 per year + bonus.
