About the role:


BlueWave has an immediate opening for a Senior Director of Capital Markets, reporting to the Chief Investment Officer. As the Senior Director of Capital Markets at BlueWave, you will oversee all aspects of transaction execution, financial modeling, pricing and due diligence for renewable energy projects. You will serve as the key subject matter expert for financial modeling and renewable energy financing, leading the team in structuring and closing deals. A core component of this role is managing relationships with project investors, including tax and cash equity partners, debt providers, and consultants, while ensuring seamless investor due diligence and deal closure. You will take ownership of project finance valuation models and tools, ensuring they remain current and aligned with market trends. Additionally, you will mentor and train junior team members, educate internal stakeholders, and stay ahead of industry developments to maintain BlueWave's competitive edge in the market.


This position is a hybrid role and requires onsite presence at our Boston office 2-3 days per week. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Boston office.


What you'll do:

  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities for financing execution, financial modeling, pricing, due diligence, and interaction with external partners
  • Represent the PF team as a “go-to” subject matter expert on financial modeling and renewable energy financing
  • Train and mentor analysts and associates and educate internal colleagues
  • Establish and manage project investor community relationships including tax and cash equity, debt, consultants, etc.
  • Manage project finance investor due diligence tasks including maintenance of data room, and take deals to closing
  • Take ownership of project finance valuation models and modeling tools, ensuring up to date market data and internal pricing structures
  • Remain current on rapidly evolving market developments and participate in industry events
  • Supervisory responsibilities: the Senior Director of Capital Markets will manage Analyst(s) and Associate(s)


Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in solar project finance and/or tax equity structuring with a renewable energy developer, investor, advisor, or comparable organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Expertise in solar and/or battery energy storage project finance modeling, with the ability to build and interpret complex financial models from the ground up
  • Working knowledge of project finance documents, including key terms and conditions
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with investors in the renewable energy sector
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel modeling capabilities specific to project finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners


The anticipated salary range for this role is $200,000- $225,000 per year + bonus.


Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, certifications, and relevant experience as outlined in the job description above.
