About the role
As the Controller at BlytzPay, you will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company. We are seeing a dynamic professional with a background in Public Accounting and industry experience to lead our Finance team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a high growth fintech company and make a meaningful impact.
What you'll do
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting and Projections:
- Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with leadership to develop accurate forecasts and projections.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
- Bookkeeping and Reconciliations:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger maintenance.
- Conduct routine reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Financial Systems and Controls:
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or misappropriation.
- Evaluate and optimize financial systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 2+ years experience in public account, followed by 2+ years in an industry role with progressive responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical skills, to create recommendations from data
