About the role

As the Controller at BlytzPay, you will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company. We are seeing a dynamic professional with a background in Public Accounting and industry experience to lead our Finance team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a high growth fintech company and make a meaningful impact. 

What you'll do

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
    • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Projections:
    • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with leadership to develop accurate forecasts and projections.
    • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial statements and supporting documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
  • Bookkeeping and Reconciliations:
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger maintenance.
    • Conduct routine reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Financial Systems and Controls:
    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or misappropriation.
    • Evaluate and optimize financial systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in public account, followed by 2+ years in an industry role with progressive responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, to create recommendations from data
