Position Summary 
The Marketing Intern will demonstrate interest for the AEC design industry, obtaining new work while enhancing the company’s reputation. Responsibilities are focused on supporting the entire proposal development process which include pursuit lead tracking, database input, content assembly and creation, visual layout, formatting, and delivery. Content management is a key component of the position, requiring the ability to organize, save, and update, as well as understanding how to source and adapt information. 
 
The Intern will contribute to the proposal library database and pipeline. As a member of the Business Development Team, this role will also support proposal development, writing, and research with aggressive deadlines and a variety of deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Typical functions of the Marketing Intern job include, but are not limited to:
  • Learn to analyze RFP instructions and manage the overall desktop publishing production, and delivery requirements of the proposal in support and coordination with Proposal Coordinator, Manager, and Director
  • Create original content and synthesize tactical messaging in a clear and concise manner
  • Translate identified messages into language that differentiates our position and addresses specific client needs
  • Work with Capture Management teams to assist with research and content to assist team in completing high-quality Federal, tribal, and commercial proposals
  • Write, edit, and proofread resumes, project descriptions, and other proposal content
  • Gather and organize proposal content through discussions with management and technical staff to meet Request for Proposal (RFP) and evaluation criteria
  • Format and layout proposal pages, resumes, and project descriptions
  • Maintain and update resume and project descriptions in the content library throughout the year
  • Organize and maintain proposal folders on company server and filesharing systems (MS Teams)
  • Prepare Sources Sought/Prequalification/Request for Information (RFI) submittals, client-specific presentations, and Statement of Qualifications (SOQs)
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support proposal and business development initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
Required Education: Pursuing a four-year degree in liberal arts, journalism, marketing communications, creative writing, or other related degree from an accredited college or university.

Required Background and Experience: 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, superb organizational abilities along with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under multiple strict deadlines and compressed schedules
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while meeting quality standards and on-time delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a cooperative and effective manner
  • Self-motivated with the agility to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
  • Customer service oriented
Preferred Background and Experience:
  • Technical writing and editing experience
Preferred Technical Skills: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically, InDesign), Open Asset and CRM systems
Working Environment
When not working from a home office, remotely, or onsite at a project location, most of this role is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. On occasion, there may be exposure to loud office or technical machinery during its’ operation.
 
Physical Demands
  • Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, copiers, and/or fax machines. 
  • Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role. 
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: None
  • Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information. 
  • Seeing: This role requires the ability to see, view, and distinguish all aspects of the proposal process. 
  • Carrying/Lifting: This role requires the ability to lift up to 10lbs to transport basic office equipment during the course of travel.
