Position Summary

This position will provide swimming pool support and maintenance services for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center located in Charleston, SC.

Hours will vary based on scheduling and training needs of the facility but pool hours known are:

Monday-Friday 5am - 4:30pm

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30-6:45pm

Saturday 10am - 2pm

Required Tasks:

• Checking and verifying the recirculation system is adequate and completing a turnover time of 6 hours.
• Take samples for bacterial analysis and notify proper authorities when needed.
• Super-chlorinate the pool as required.
• Ensure water quality standards are being met.
• Check the automatic controller, temperatures, and backwash filters.
• Clean the hair and lint trap 1x per week.
• Vacuum the pool 3x weekly to include water and sludge retrieved during vacuuming.
• Clean immediate areas around the pool, including walkways, diving boards, ladders, etc.
• Maintain outdoor furniture, including storage and securing it in inclement weather.
• Notify the facilities manager regarding work orders and maintenance on pool ladders, diving boards, handrails, and lifeguard chairs.
• Log and maintain administrative records and pool operation reports.

Position Requirements:

• Possession of a valid South Carolina Pool Operator's certification approved by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
• Shall have previous training and qualifications to operate a public swimming pool.
