Position Summary
This leadership role is pivotal in the Bodwé Professional Services Group of Companies. This position will drive the performance and growth of our federal infrastructure practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Typical functions of this role are not limited to:
  • Strategic Management
    1. Define and articulate the long-term Federal vision and strategy of the Infrastructure Services Branch to achieve growth goals, with a specific focus on leveraging 8(a) sole-source contracting opportunities. 
    2. Develop and execute strategies to achieve growth goals in the federal market sector. 
    3. Collaborate with Executive Leadership and Business Development teams to craft actionable strategies. 
    4. Continuously assess and adapt strategies to meet changing federal requirements.
  • Financial Management
    1. Take full responsibility for understanding the financials related to our federal projects.
    2. Analyze and manage financial performance for federal projects, executing initiatives to drive profitability.
    3. Oversight and assist with formulating annual budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.
  • Federal Client Relationship Management
    1. Direct and monitor federal infrastructure contracting initiatives across multiple agencies.
    2. Foster and enhance relationships with federal clients, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
    3. Liaise closely with federal clients to understand needs, project satisfaction, and overall customer satisfaction.
    4. Represent the Infrastructure Branch at regional and national conferences and professional society events.
  • Operations, Team Leadership, and Project Management
    1. Drive operational efficiency and excellence.
    2. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team.
    3. Liaise with Project Managers to understand project performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful outcomes. 
    4. Develop a clear understanding of Federal Market Infrastructure Backlog and the requisite skills, professional certifications and manpower to complete project pursuits and wins resulting in client satisfaction and excellent project delivery.
    5. Coordinate with Human Resources to create a staff resource pipeline and hiring strategy.
  • Federal Contracting and Compliance
    1. Apply in-depth knowledge of FAR and DFAR in all contracting activities.
    2. Leverage expertise in small business set-asides.
    3. Lead and manage joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
  • Compliance, Risk, and Governance Management
    1. Ensure adherence to all federal regulations, including FAR, DFAR, and small business set-asides.
    2. Implement comprehensive risk management strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Education and Degree: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or an equivalently related field

Preferred Education and Degree: Master’s degree in civil engineering, business administration, construction management, or an equivalently related field

Required Background and Experience: 
  • Professional Engineer Licensure
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in an infrastructure engineering firm
  • Proven ability in managing federal contracts, and deep familiarity with FAR, DFAR, SAM.gov, small business set-asides, and joint ventures
  • Exceptional financial acumen
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and project management skills
  • Existing relationships with both Federal agencies and large infrastructure businesses
Preferred Background and Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of direct project related infrastructure design or construction inspection management experience.
  • Structural Engineer Licensure a plus
Required Technical Skills:
  • Direct experience and proficiency in leading the development of construction documents, preparation, specification and cost estimates.
  • Understand Federal agency procurement and cost proposal development
  • General understanding of engineering disciplines and ability to coordinate teams and communicate basic concepts to clients.
  • Proficient with: 
    1. Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams 
    2. Zoho CRM or other CRM platforms
    3. GovWin and/or GovTribe
    4. Bluebeam
    5. Familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation
Working Environment
This remote position will require travel (≤ 30%) to headquarters, client sites, and conferences. 
 
Physical Demands
  • Sitting/Standing: This role is generally performed sitting utilizing technological office equipment including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines. 
  • Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role. 
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper. 
  • Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information. 
  • Seeing: This role requires the ability to see, view, and distinguish all aspects of construction.
  • Carrying/Lifting: This role requires the ability to lift up to 15lbs to transport technological office equipment to and from various workspaces.
