Bookmans Entertainment Exchange has been serving Arizona communities for nearly 50 years. Originally a used bookstore, Bookmans has expanded to include various forms of media such as books, video games, music and movies as well as musical instruments, housewares, and collectibles. We buy, sell, and trade with our customers to acquire the majority of our inventory, proudly following a sustainable business model that keeps items out of landfills and gives them new life. Additionally, Bookmans speaks out against censorship and promotes freedom of expression at every turn.

Job Responsibilities:

· Responsible for leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance.

· To apply knowledge of books to processing, shelving, and sales, while continuously incorporating positive customer focused strategies.

· Staff members price, sort, stock, and merchandise all areas of the department.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills with motivation to serve the public

• Professional telephone skills

• Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule to include early mornings, evenings, mid-shifts and weekends

• Diverse Book knowledge

• Understanding of the pricing, trading and discount systems

• Motivated to learn outside of their reading comfort zone

• General knowledge of products sold at Bookmans

• Knowledge of store sections and layout

• Ability to work independently with guidance and direction from Book Department Supervisor and Management

• Ability to use reference materials

• Must be able to conduct oneself in a civil, professional and respectful manner at work

This position is Full-time and scheduled at a minimum of 32 hours per week. Must have Open Availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and be able to work 5 shifts per week.
