Overview: 

As a vital component of Born Primitive, the Store Manager will oversee day-to-day storefront operations, drive sales, and ensure a positive shopping environment for our customers. The Store Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the store’s operations from pre-opening setup to daily management, including staff management, inventory control, employee scheduling,  customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized store, all while working towards achieving the financial goals for the new location.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Store set-up to include hiring and onboarding of the opening team.
  • Overseeing daily operations of the retail store, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Leading and motivating retail associates to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular stock assessments, and coordinating with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Create and maintain the employee schedule that aligns with business needs, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours while adhering to labor laws and company policy.
  • Monitor labor costs and productivity based on sales trends, budget constraints, and seasonal fluctuations to optimize labor costs while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Implementing merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and appeal.
  • Analyzing sales data and implementing sales strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Ensuring a positive and customer-friendly shopping experience across the store.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and enacting performance improvement as necessary.
  • Implement and enforce store policies and procedures to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
  • Manage and motivate retail staff, providing coaching and support for professional development.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to create appealing product displays.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the retail team to communicate goals, expectations and updates.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences and competitive landscape to drive innovation.


Education & Experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Powerful leadership skills and an empathetic approach to management, with the ability to make important decisions
  • An eye for creativity and the ability to strategize visually appealing store displays
  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in a managerial position
  • Working knowledge of business development best practices
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning and office management

Physical Requirements:

This is a primarily standing position, however, chairs will be provided for lunch breaks and other breaks. Associates will frequently bend, stoop, walk, lift up to 10 lbs., and crouch as needed. Occasionally associates in this position may be asked to push/pull up to 50 lbs., and/or travel on a voluntary basis.
