Bound

Director, Marketing

About Bound

We believe an athletic director's job is one of the most critical in a community: to shape the lives and experiences of student-athletes. But as we listened, we learned that with dwindling budgets and growing responsibilities, they’ve had no choice but to spend more time managing logistics than leading their teams and programs. After countless conversations, we gained a deep understanding of their challenges, from handling transactions to managing schedules and tracking results.

This insight was the catalyst for Bound. We created an all-in-one platform to give ADs back their time. With our OneSchedule Technology at its core, our platform integrates essential tools like Activity Registration, Tickets and Passes, and 20+ additional solutions. Today, Bound empowers schools across the country to manage every aspect of their athletics and activities, all within a single, unified solution.

We're not just a software company; we are a team made up of former athletic directors, administrators, coaches, parents, and fans. We all share one core belief: in the power of youth sports and activities to positively impact communities and the people who live in them.

About the Role

The Marketing Director leads Bound’s marketing strategy, brand presence, and demand generation efforts. This role is responsible for building a high‑performing marketing function, elevating Bound’s voice in the high school athletics community, and driving growth across our school, state association, and family‑facing products.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic leader and a hands‑on builder—comfortable setting vision, managing people, and rolling up their sleeves to execute. A genuine passion for high school athletics is essential.

  • Build, mentor, and manage a growing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Own Bound’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all channels, campaigns, and customer touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Experience to align messaging, support launches, and drive adoption.
  • Oversee demand generation programs that attract and convert athletic directors, coaches, and school administrators.
  • Develop compelling content that celebrates high school athletics and showcases Bound’s impact.
  • Manage marketing analytics, reporting, and performance measurement to guide strategy and optimize spend.
  • Represent the voice of the customer—especially athletic directors—across the organization.
  • Build relationships within the high school sports community, including state

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or people‑management role.

  • Experience leading brand, content, digital, and/or product marketing functions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messages.
  • Data‑driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decisions.
  • Deep passion for high school athletics—experience as an athlete, coach, AD, or sports parent is a plus.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑growing, evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience marketing to K–12 schools, athletic departments, or youth sports organizations. Background in SaaS growth marketing, especially in a startup or scale‑up environment.

  • Certifications in digital marketing, brand strategy, or analytics (e.g., HubSpot, Google Ads, Google Analytics).

Who You Are

  • A mission‑driven leader who cares deeply about the impact of high school athletics on students and communities. A strategic thinker who can zoom out to set vision and zoom in to execute with precision.
  • A collaborative partner who builds trust across Sales, Product, Customer Experience, and external stakeholders.
  • A creative storyteller who knows how to elevate a brand and celebrate the people it serves.
