About Braid Robotics

Braid is on a mission to make AI learn as fast as humans. We build smart models that learn from very little data, and are putting them to work in unstructured environments where data is scarce.

The opportunity

Our amazing ML researchers and engineers developped transformative robot learning technology. We are now looking for world-class software engineers to productize it.

You will work closely with ML engineers to build tools to accelerate model development and system integration, and build infrastructure to integrate models into robotic systems, and deploy and sustain them on customer sites.

Who you are

You are passionate about software engineering and have insatiable curiosity about AI and robotics.

You have deployed robots or AI in the field before, or both if you are a unicorn.

You learned the hard lessons about debugging a problem on a customer site, so know the value of instrumenting software for observability, producing alerts to detect problems before a customer does, tooling for remote monitoring and intervention, and more generally what it takes to sustain software through its life cycle.

You are excited the opportunity to apply these lessons in a greenfield environment, and influence others about the best practices you learned.

You thrive in a small team and are undaunted by the intensity of startup life. You are willing to do what it takes to get the job done, and look forward to learning about ML and robotics from the best researchers there are. And get paid doing it!

What you'll do

  • Build tools to accelerate ML development, including simulation environments
  • Setup automated testing to quantify progress
  • Build CI/CD environment
  • Build sandboxes to enable experimentation within a stable infrastructure
  • Instrument software for observability, monitoring and alerts
  • Figure out pipelines for retrieving data from deployed systems
  • Work closely with robotics engineers to deploy software onto real robotic systems.
  • Build OTA updating pipeline
  • Interface our software with a customer's ERP and back end systems
  • Optimize performance across cloud and edge computing environments.
  • Manage compute cloud services
  • Serve as support escalation for deployed systems

Preferred qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years exprience building software for robots or ML
  • Experience deploying robotics systems or ML software
  • Experience architecting and building production software
  • Intimate familiarity with production patterns and best practices
  • Nice to have: simulation environments such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo

Why join Braid?
