About BRAINS
BRAINS is an independent full-service creative agency sparking market, brand, and cultural impact.
Brand Design Intern
We’re looking for a designer who asks “why” before doing almost anything and understands how great design can elevate values, tell stories, and create impact.
During this 3-month design internship, you'll work on real client projects — building brand identities, designing campaign assets, and developing visual systems that have to actually work across channels. You'll be mentored by senior designers, pushed to think beyond aesthetics, and given the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the team.
As a Brand Intern at BRAINS, you will:
- Contribute to Brand Development: Help gather research and insights on client brands, business objectives, and target audiences to inform creative work.
- Create Visual Assets: Design visuals for brand identity projects, social media content, and campaign assets under the guidance of senior designers
- Learn & Apply Design Systems: Work within established brand guidelines while exploring opportunities to bring fresh design approaches to projects.
- Embrace Craft & Detail: Develop attention to detail and a high standard of execution by receiving mentorship from the design team.
- Assist in Presentation Preparation: Help create mockups, presentations, and concept boards to visually communicate creative ideas.
- Balance Multiple Tasks: Manage time effectively to contribute to multiple projects while maintaining focus on quality and deadlines.
Who You Are:
- Hands-On Creator: You’re ready to dive in and get your hands dirty. Whether it’s designing social media graphics, contributing to branding projects, or helping build presentations.
- Aspiring Brand Builder: You’re fascinated by how brands express themselves visually. You’re excited to learn how to create consistent design systems that stretch across different platforms and bring brand stories to life.
- Detail-Oriented: You sweat the small stuff—typography, composition, motion, and color—because you know that craft makes all the difference in delivering standout work.
- Team Player: You value collaboration and are open to feedback.
- Clear Communicator: You’re comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and working alongside others.
- Ready to Learn: You handle change positively and can shift gears quickly, keeping pace in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
Qualifications:
- A portfolio that demonstrates at least one end-to-end project—brand identity, campaign, or similar—showing your thinking from concept to execution, not just final outputs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- Understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to take direction, collaborate effectively, and contribute creative ideas.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and contribute to multiple projects.
Bonus Points:
- You’re currently enrolled in a graphic design program. While we encourage students at all year levels to apply, this internship best suits those in their third year or beyond.
- Illustration skills, whether digital or traditional.
- Hands-on experience with emerging creative tools in AI, 3D, motion, or web design.
- Experience with presentation design, using tools like Google Slides or PowerPoint.
- Photography or photo editing skills, including retouching, color correction, or creating visual assets for content.
