Brightside is looking for a versatile Data Analyst to join its Analytics department in support of the Enterprise team. This role will report to the Data Analytics Manager and will collaborate with the enterprise team lead in the analytical functions related to member insurance eligibility, claims processing and payer performance. Data and evidence drive decision-making at Brightside and, in turn, this role will be charged with a critical responsibility.  This is a high impact role that will influence many aspects of the insurance-based patient experience at Brightside.

Key strengths for the ideal candidate will be SQL model development, relational databases and data visualization. Recurring focus areas will include full-cycle claims management, payor reimbursement methodology, and member insurance validation. Ultimately, the role will join a growing Data team that seeks to empower the broader organization with data.

What you’ll do as a Data Analyst:

  • Provide analytics support to the Enterprise and Revenue Cycle teams in areas of claim validation, coding opportunities, and billing discrepancies.

  • Understands and interprets payer contract terms, reimbursement schedules, and other sources of data to complete analyses and financial projections

  • Analyzing and interpreting healthcare claims data, enrollment data, and other relevant information to identify trends and patterns

  • Develop SQL data models to power KPI reporting

  • Engage in creative problem solving with systematic solutions

 Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 3+ years of analytics experience

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and cloud databases (like Google Cloud Platform)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (like Tableau)

  • Experience with claims data feeds and EDI data submissions

  • Experience with payer reimbursement methodologies

  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self starter, comfortable working in a flexible and dynamic startup environment
