ROLE OVERVIEW

The Director of Sales is a vital part of Brodie League’s athlete growth and revenue expansion. This is a high-performance leadership role for a builder who can create systems, scale people, and turn frontline staff into an elite, customer-obsessed sales force.

You will own athlete growth across all Brodie League locations - increasing registrations, boosting retention, driving add-on revenue, and unlocking new opportunities to grow the brand. This role sits at the intersection of sales, customer experience, community, and operations.

Your job: build the ultimate service-driven selling machine across North America, powered by Brodie culture and frontline execution.

You will partner directly with on-site teams - League Managers, Athlete Experience Specialists, and Highlight Specialists - shaping the scripts, playbooks, tools, and habits they use to convert athletes, exceed expectations, and keep players coming back season after season.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Growth Strategy & Revenue Ownership

  • Own the sales strategy and revenue targets for all Brodie League locations
  • Build frameworks to increase athlete registrations, retention, referrals, and waitlist conversions
  • Develop and test pricing strategies, add-on offerings, upsells, and new revenue streams
  • Partner with Marketing to tighten funnels and optimize lead → registration conversion
  • Analyze player behaviour to identify revenue opportunities and timing patterns

Staff Training, Coaching & Performance

  • Build systems that increase returning athletes season-over-season
  • Create customer service scripts that turn every staff member into a confident seller
  • Implement follow-up processes, customer lifecycles, and retention workflows
  • Coach staff on how to build relationships, anticipate athlete needs, and create “wow” moments
  • Integrate sales opportunities into game night flow (check-in, jersey pickup, on-court engagement)

Field Sales Systems & Playbooks

  • Develop Brodie’s full sales playbook used by League Managers, Experience Specialists, and Highlight Specialists
  • Design training programs, workshops, and role-playing sessions to upgrade frontline selling skills
  • Build dashboards and targets for staff and locations
  • Review performance weekly with District Managers and League Managers
  • Establish standards for communication, outreach, follow-ups, and athlete closing techniques

Data, Reporting & Optimization

  • Track KPIs such as athlete signups, retention, referrals, and conversion rates
  • Build dashboards that show performance by location, staff member, and season
  • Use data to identify bottlenecks and design improvements
  • Present weekly and monthly sales reports to the executive team

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of sales leadership experience, ideally in consumer, sports, retail, or multi-location environments
  • Proven ability to build and scale high-performance sales teams
  • Experience creating systems, scripts, playbooks, and repeatable processes
  • Strong understanding of customer psychology and service-driven selling
  • Highly analytical - able to work with data, funnels, and conversion metrics
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
  • Entrepreneurial builder who loves testing, iterating, and scaling
  • 5 days in office at our Toronto HQ - Brodie has thrived due to a culture of collaboration and teamwork in office


Compensation Disclosure

The expected annual compensation range for this role is between $100,000 and $150,000 CAD. Compensation is based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. The compensation range may be adjusted in the future.
