Working Location

This position is remote-first for candidates based in the United States. Team members also have the option to work from one of our office hubs in Fort Worth, TX, or Boca Raton, FL, depending on location and preference. We value flexibility, collaboration, and clear communication — no matter where you’re based.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for a Back End Software Engineer with a passion for building scalable systems and a curiosity for solving complex technical problems. You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Have 2+ years of experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, or ASP.NET
  • Understand the demands of building and maintaining modern SaaS platforms
  • Have experience with microservices, cloud environments (preferably AWS), and containerization (Docker)
  • Bring practical SQL skills (DML, DDL, tuning), and understand how to tune queries and manage structured data
  • Care about clean code, automated testing, and collaborative engineering

Bonus if you have experience with:

  • Geospatial data or large-scale data processing
  • Event-driven architecture or analytics-heavy platforms

What Makes You Stand Out

  • You love backend architecture and get excited by efficiency, performance, and elegant design
  • You’ve worked in a cross-functional team and enjoy turning real user needs into practical engineering solutions
  • You’re naturally curious and always looking for ways to learn, grow, and improve your craft
  • You don’t just code — you care about why it matters and how it delivers value

What We Offer

  • Competitive total compensation
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) + paid holidays
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefits
  • 401(k) with company match

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, as we are dedicated to providing a safe and secure work environment for all Buxton stakeholders.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is competitive and tailored based on skills, experience, and location. The total compensation package includes:

  • Base salary, aligned to market and experience level
  • Eligibility for annual bonus or incentive plans, depending on the position offered

We are committed to transparent, equitable pay practices and compliance with all relevant state and local regulations. Final compensation will reflect each candidate’s qualifications and impact potential.

What to Expect from the Hiring Process

We believe in a respectful and transparent hiring experience. For this role, our typical process includes:

  1. Introductory Call – A 20–30 minute conversation with our People team to get to know you and share what Audiense is all about
  2. Technical Assessment – A timed, 30-minute independent coding challenge completed in our secure platform (screen-recorded, no audio/video)
    • This step helps us understand your problem-solving approach and code quality—without the use of AI tools or external resources. While we incorporate AI and machine learning in our day-to-day work, this exercise is designed to highlight your individual thinking and technical skills.
  3. Hiring Team Interview – A 60–90 minute conversation to explore the role in depth and introduce you to some of your future teammates and manager

We’re happy to answer any questions along the way. Let us know if there’s anything specific you’d like us to cover in advance.
