The Business Insights Analyst will develop and maintain the go-to-market reporting designed to support, track, and grow core and new product initiatives. They will provide the analytics and insights needed to optimize pricing, promotion, distribution, displays and shelf placement to grow sales. The position will develop and maintain value-added category management tools, incorporating customer learning and brand insights that will guide sales to achieve volume and distribution objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Create and maintain analytical tools, reporting and resources driven by AMPS (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, and Shelving) gold standard principles.

·        Use reporting to analyze, identify distribution voids and quantify opportunity gaps.

·        Track, monitor and provide actionable feedback on ACV/distribution, sales trends, shelf management.

·        Utilize syndicated and consumer research to develop fact-based analysis and presentations.

·        Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines; report regularly on status of projects; meet or exceed on-time and quality expectations; work closely with managers regarding all project aspects.


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; entry level to two or more years CPG industry experience. This role may also include college interns.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions, sales operations and procedures manuals, general business periodicals, HR regulations and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and associates.

Mathematical Skills: Must know basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication to perform accurate calculations of budgets, net sales, margins, promotional percentages, discounts, and commissions. Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts to sales velocity ratios, days of supply, pallet configurations and sales forecasting.

Reasoning Ability: Must possess critical thinking skills like analysis, evaluation, and synthesis as well as abstract thinking, creative thinking, information processing and problem-solving. Ability to prioritize workload and set goals.

Technology Skills: working knowledge of the fundamentals of the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs including by not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of syndicated systems and their applications in the trade marketing/ BI function (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, etc) preferred but not mandatory.

Other Skills And Abilities: Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV report.
