Client Service Accountant (English-Speaking)

We’re looking for a client-focused Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financials, resolving accounting issues, and proactively addressing their needs. If you love solving financial puzzles, excel at critical thinking, and have the ambition to grow into a leadership role, we’d love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities

Client-Facing Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary accountant for multiple clients.
  • Provide prompt and professional responses to client emails and one-off requests, such as:
    • Business license renewals
    • Workers’ compensation audits
    • Client customer history (income and profitability)
    • Retirement strategies
    • Bank loan applications
    • Regulatory compliance
    • Financial review meetings (potential Zoom calls)
  • Ensure financial statements are accurate before distribution.

Bookkeeping Oversight

  • Oversee and review the work of a team of three bookkeepers based in the Philippines.
  • Assign tasks to the bookkeeping team as needed.
  • Provide courteous yet constructive feedback to maintain high quality and consistency across clients.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills

  • QBO ProAdvisor Certified
  • Strong financial statement review skills, with the ability to identify and resolve errors.
  • Experience with posting corrections and updating SOPs when necessary.
  • Ability to analyze financial fluctuations and provide insights.
  • Proficiency in running canned Excel reports for clients.
  • Ability to review monthly reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
  • Process improvement mindset—looking for ways to enhance effectiveness, controls, and consistency across clients.
  • Willingness to learn industry-specific reconciliations (training provided).

Additional Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting
  • Language: Fluent in English
  • Location: Fully remote in Mexico; must be within 1-2 hours of client time zone
  • Education: Degree in Accounting
  • Home Office: Team member must be willing to secure reliable, high-speed internet

40,000 - 50,000 MXN per month (MX)
