What you'll do:

  • Administer switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Proactively monitor for network outages and performance issues.
  • Maintain version and configuration control of network devices.
  • Coordinate with circuit vendors for outages.
  • Provide technical input and guidance on the Networking needs of all software and hardware used through United Malt Group and its subsidiaries globally.
  • Perform risk analysis of each network related service request and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks.
  • Accountable for the stability and security of the global network.
  • Implement Infrastructure projects, complying with project management methodologies, and ensuring the integrity of interdependent operational services and other projects.
  • Works to ensure that network systems are compliant with relevant regulatory standards.
  • Implement disaster recovery plans and procedures for the global enterprise network.
  • Responsible for following all safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations, maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • CCNA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in a role as a network engineer in an enterprise environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and triaging network issues.
  • Strong knowledge of network control protocols and routing, network management protocols (CDP, SFTP, SNMP) and network security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, SDWAN).
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN transport technologies (Ethernet, Wireless LAN technologies, SDN).
  • Amenable to working in US hours (1-10pm PT) and rotation for on-call duties on weekends.
  • Specialty in supporting the following hardware: Cisco - Meraki.
  • Experience with network monitoring and system management.


Preferred:

  • PLC and SCADA experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of virtual networking in cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Palo Alto Firewall experience is a plus.
  • Hands on experience with wireless networks.
