We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Marketing Specialist with a strong background in outdoor hospitality, campgrounds, or the broader recreation industry to help drive demand and engagement through our go-to-market (GTM) strategy. This role will focus on high-impact marketing efforts that foster community, generate leads, and build meaningful relationships with campground owners, operators, and outdoor hospitality professionals.
The ideal candidate will have first-hand knowledge of the campground and outdoor hospitality industry, understand the unique challenges operators face, and be passionate about creating content and experiences that directly resonate with our audience. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and follow-up for webinars, live workshops, tradeshows, and in-person events while managing social media channels and online communities to drive engagement and brand presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Webinars and Live Workshops:
- Own the calendar and execution of webinars and live workshops, ensuring they align with demand generation goals and directly contribute to sales pipeline growth.
- Leverage industry knowledge to develop compelling content that speaks directly to campground owners, RV park operators, and outdoor hospitality professionals.
- Coordinate outreach and segmentation strategies to maximize attendance and engagement from relevant industry stakeholders.
- Oversee all logistics, from platform setup to speaker coordination and technical support.
- Manage pre-event promotions and post-event follow-up, including surveys and content distribution, ensuring measurable impact.
Social Media and Community Management:
- Oversee all industry-specific social media channels and online communities, including Facebook groups, LinkedIn, and campground owner forums, fostering meaningful engagement and lead generation.
- Create and execute content strategies tailored to campground and outdoor hospitality audiences, ensuring relevance and impact.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and audience engagement metrics to optimize content and outreach efforts.
- Respond to community inquiries, fostering authentic connections and positioning the brand as a trusted industry resource.
Tradeshows and In-Person Events:
- Maintain and manage a calendar of key industry tradeshows and events, ensuring maximum visibility and sponsorship utilization.
- Handle all aspects of event logistics, including booth design, material preparation, shipping, and on-site coordination.
- Develop and implement pre-event marketing strategies to drive attendance, increase visibility, and maximize networking opportunities.
- Lead post-event follow-up efforts, ensuring lead nurturing, tracking, and reporting on event performance tied to pipeline growth.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the marketing team members to align community-building efforts with overall brand messaging and objectives.
- Track and report on the success of community engagement initiatives and event performance, with a focus on metrics tied to demand generation and GTM objectives, such as MQLs, SQLs, and revenue impact.
- Maintain organized records of all projects, calendars, and workflows to ensure seamless execution and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience .
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, event planning, or community management within the outdoor hospitality, campground, RV park, or travel industry.
- Strong understanding of campground operations, outdoor hospitality trends, and the unique challenges of the industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft industry-relevant messaging.
- Proficiency in webinar platforms, social media management tools, and CRM systems (experience with HubSpot is a plus).
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and report on engagement metrics.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing Facebook groups and industry-specific forums for community-building.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms and audience segmentation strategies.
- Existing network within the outdoor hospitality space, including campground associations, vendors, and industry influencers.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary: $68k-$75k

While Campspot is a remote-first company, priority will be given to candidates located near our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters or in our Denver, CO and Chicago, IL metro area hubs. Secondary consideration will be given to candidates who reside in states where we currently have employees, including CO, IA, IL, ME, MA, MI, NY, NC, OR, SC, TX, UT, VT, VA, and WA. Candidates located outside of the US or any of the states listed previously are not able to be considered at this time.
