Director of Development Operations

The Director of Development Operations oversees CRI’s development operations program, supporting all fundraising and donor stewardship activities, and continuing to build a program that raises the resources needed to fund the research that will advance groundbreaking discoveries and build a world immune from cancer.  


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the development database
    • Ensure efficient and accurate gift entry
    • Support development team donor engagement by collaboratively designing dashboards for real-time portfolio updates and providing expert guidance on leveraging CRM for moves-management
    • Oversee the development operations team as well as the CRM reporting and associated analysis, in order to provide metrics of donor trends, that will help to inform development strategy
    • Oversee the portfolio structure and donor assignment processes in CRM
    • Oversee the pulling of lists for mass mailings and donor communications
  • Oversee all aspects of the donation processing program
    • Ensure all donations are processed and acknowledged accurately and in a timely manner
    • Oversee the reconciliation of all revenue with finance to ensure accuracy of CRM
    • Support annual audit with any donation information requested
    • Partner with finance top provide monthly revenue updates
    • Oversee vendor relationships associated with donation processing
    • Pursue a continuous improvement plan in order to increase the efficiency, accuracy and security of donation processing
  • Oversee Development Operations change management
    • Design processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of the development team
    • Design and implement training plans for new processes and tools


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant CRM management experience, including donation processing, data-hygiene, reporting and systems improvement
  • Minimum of 2 years experience supervising staff
  • Experience working with a diverse community of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to design reports and synthesize large amounts of information in order to draw data-informed conclusions that can inform strategy
  • In-depth familiarity with rules and best-practices for processing philanthropic donations.
  • Proficient using Raiser’s Edge, Google, Microsoft, Slack, professional communication tools, and project management software  
  • Experience using at least two donor CRM, including Raisers’ Edge is desired
