Why this job is exciting

The role:

Capacity is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist to play a critical role in driving our brand presence through high-impact events and engaging social media strategies. This is a dynamic position for a motivated self-starter who thrives on logistical execution, content creation, and real-time community engagement. You will be instrumental in ensuring our events—both virtual and in-person—are successful lead-generation machines and that our social channels reflect our innovative mission and vibrant culture.

Responsibilities:

In this role you, will be responsible for the following:

Event Marketing & Logistics

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of company events, including industry trade shows and webinars.
  • Manage pre- and post-event logistics, including vendor communication, internal stakeholder coordination, securing booth space, managing registration platforms (e.g., Contrast), and coordinating collateral (swag, signage).
  • Track event budgets, measure event performance against KPIs (e.g., MQLs, attendance rate), and provide detailed post-event reporting.
  • Coordinate on-site event execution, ensuring a seamless experience for staff, partners, and attendees.

Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Execute the day-to-day management of Capacity’s main social media channels (LinkedIn), including content scheduling, publishing, and real-time community monitoring.
  • Develop engaging short-form content (e.g., graphics, short videos, polls) to promote events, product launches, thought leadership, and company culture.
  • Monitor social media trends, analyze performance using native platform analytics, and provide insights to optimize posting schedules and content strategies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for social media community engagement, responding to comments, direct messages, and fostering positive interactions.

Content & Creative Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Content and Design teams to ensure event and social media content is brand-consistent, compelling, and aligned with campaign objectives.
  • Support the repurposing of event content (e.g., presentation slides, recordings, key takeaways) into engaging social media assets and post-event email nurture campaigns.

Lead Generation & Reporting

  • Work closely with the sales and revenue operations team to ensure timely and accurate lead capture, upload, and distribution following all events.
  • Maintain organized tracking and reporting of all activities within the CRM/marketing automation platform.

Requirements:

Experience & Education

  • Previous experience (internship or entry-level) in a B2B marketing role, with direct exposure to event planning or social media management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Event Specific Skills

  • Familiarity with event planning fundamentals, including budgeting, vendor negotiation, and on-site execution.
  • Experience managing event-related platforms.

Social Media Specific Skills

  • Proven understanding of best practices, algorithms, and content formats across major professional social media platforms (especially LinkedIn).
  • Comfort using social media management tools (e.g., HubSpot, Denim Social) for scheduling and analytics.
  • Basic proficiency in creative tools (e.g., Canva, Figma) for quick content creation and editing.

General Marketing Skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable writing engaging, brand-appropriate social copy.
  • A proactive, results-oriented attitude with an eagerness to learn and take ownership of projects.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot) is a plus.

You are motivated by:

  • Hustle: You inspire others to work as hard as you. You will find a way, no matter how hard the task is.
  • Ownership: You have an owner/builder mentality. You care about what you deliver and own your mistakes.
  • Proactivity: You don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do or what problems to solve. You are always looking for ways to learn and improve.
  • Excellence: You set a high bar and surpass expectations.  You hit your goals and ask for more.
  • Humility: You are not above any task in the organization and are willing to drop what you’re doing to help a teammate.
