Job Title: Addiction Worker Faculty Head/ Instructor


Location: Remote 


Hours: Permanent position with up to 40 hours per week. Instructor hours are scheduled Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (20 hours/week). Additional Faculty Head hours will range from 5 to 20 hours per week, based on operational needs.


Start Date: May 11, 2026


Compensation: $32/hr to $35/hr


The Opportunity:

The Faculty Head is the liaison for the respective faculty. As a program champion, the Faculty Head assists the College in providing mentorship and guidance for instructors within their program while providing suggestions towards developing a long-term strategy to maintain program relevance. This is achieved through training and support for all faculty and by ensuring that curriculum and course materials are effective and current for the evolving requirements for Addiction Worker professionals and directives of the Canadian Addiction Counselors Certification Federation (CACCF). The Faculty Head is responsible for ensuring that program accreditation is maintained between assessments.


What you'll be doing:


Faculty Head

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the program curriculum as approved by the Provincial Regulator.
  • Adhere to the policies set forth by Canadian Addiction Counselors Certification Federation (CACCF).
  • Develop a clear understanding of the program scheduling summary and related merge model.
  • Research and identify opportunities and trends within the industry.
  • Act as SMEs for curriculum development or provide support in identifying a SME for curriculum development and updates.
  • Maintain curriculum quality by following academic policies and procedures as well as communication with key stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership oversight regarding curriculum from a subject matter expert perspective.
  • Provide support for Instructor orientation and continuous instructor development support.
  • Facilitate Faculty Head Meetings at least monthly according to best practices.
  • Ensure that curriculum updates are effectively communicated and reviewed with program faculty.
  • Support in maintaining program accreditation standard.
  • Participate in annual program review as guided by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Instructor

  • Deliver high-quality classroom instruction, using a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Design and administer assessments, quizzes, exams, and assignments to evaluate student performance. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Encourage active student participation and engagement in the learning process. Offer guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Offer academic and career counseling to students, providing guidance on academic progress, study techniques, and career opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, Program Coordinators/Faculty Heads, and College administrators to improve program quality, share best practices, and contribute to the overall success of the College.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information. Ensure compliance with College policies and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What you bring to the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Psychology and/or Addiction Counseling. Masters preferred.
  • Mental Health First Aid Facilitator Certificate is preferred
  • 3–5+ years direct clinical experience in addiction treatment.
  • Membership with the Canadian Addiction Counselors Certification Federation (CACCF) is an asset.
  • Adult education and teaching experience preferred.
